s! Tomorrow, at 7 in the morning.... for 9 hours... And its 2 AM, and I cant sleep. It really sucks.....
What for? Why a charge that I only could have gotten in the fine city of Greenwood Village, CO, home of the most useless police force in all of colorado, possession of tobacco by a minor. Not smoking in a public place, not majirjuana, but simply possessing a pack of cigarettes.
This ended up costing my family 300$, and me having to work 24 hours of community service. That doesn't sound bad, but community service means having a bunch of awful bitches yelling at you as you rip weeds out of places where it really doesn't matter, in the 90 degree Colorado summer sun, for 8 hours. You also have to pay 60$ for it, and the said awful bitches can kick you off, no hours, no refund, for the most trivial of reasons.

This wouldn't have happened if you weren't carrying cigarettes on you like an idiot, you idiot. It still makes perfect sense for minors to be prohibited from being in possession of tobacco products.

That's not the point. Its not I crime anywhere I can think of for a minor to carry cigarettes, except this hellhole. I got charged 300$ and have to do 24 hours of slave labor for it. Say what you will about how breaking the law is bad, and cigarettes being for stupid people, but doesn't that seem to be a little bit of a dick move?

I'm pretty sure that most jurisdictions that prohibit the sale of tobacco products to minors also prohibit the mere possession of them, which makes perfect sense.

No, this your wrong. It is a crime in most places, because you know your suppose to be 18+ to possess and purchase tobacco products.
Although I will say the punishment was a little much, 300$, 24 hours of community service and a class seems pretty damn excessive.
Oh and to the people that say "you shouldn't of broken the law, laws are there for a reason", although I agree in this circumstance it wasn't an issue, stop acting like the laws and judicial system aren't flawed, because they are.
For instance in my area there are laws and such in place that allow a robber to sue you if they broke into your house and got hurt. That's not even a joke, they can literally break into your house, sustain an injury from doing so, and then sue you for it.

Swearing in a public place (if someone was offended by it, or in an area with THOSE INNOCENT CHILDREN) in the state of Texas is a fine of $50 per letter. I don't see how possesion by a minor is worse considering that the police don't know what you were planning to do with it.
