Ever since I started driving, all it's been about was me fucking up behind the wheel and the person in the car with me panicking, cursing me out, telling me how much I suck, and making me nervous as hell. I'm supposed to be learning, but instead it feels like I just get in the car and make a complete fool out of myself and make the other person feel like killing me.
Because of it I give up. I'm not going to request that I drive with my parents anymore because they're just going to feel like killing me and I'm going to feel like a total piece of shit. To all those people who say the road test is so hard, I need to practice for 20 more years to pass it, blah blah blah, you know what? Fuck you, I won't ever take the road test, because it's not even worth taking. Maybe I should go back to driving in a giant parking lot, eh? Then MAYBE I will live.
Fuck cars, I'm riding a horse.
Dude, people are jackasses. You just have to live with it.
The guy below me is gay
Don't give up. Believe me, I had a hard time getting my license but it was worth it. Also, you can drive with your parents before taking the road test? Here you can only drive with your driving instructor in a car that has pedals on the instructor's side too. So I never had to worry about killing anyone.
yeah, I refuse to get my license.
people are just shitty drivers and truth be told, I'd probably be a shitty driver as well.
I'm moving to NYC anyway and in addition to being cheaper, I personally prefer the public transportation there.
I wish Syracuse would build a subway system :(
Move to Italy and fit in with the crowd... once you're 18, that is.
Seriously, whats up with being able to drive at 16?
And I'm assuming you get tired of the saying,"bitch, ever use your rearviews?"

Yo man I can totally relate but dont let your rage stop you from learning. My dad is an absolute maniac when i comes to driving. Driving is as easy as breathing for him, and he doesnt understand how it is not to know. He expects me to somehow magically know certain things, and judge everything properly. Hes be driving since he was about 10 (not street driving) so it makes things a lot harder while im learning at 17.
Just overcome it man, dont let anyone hold you back. Learn so you can drive for that future girlfriend of yours, so you can get to work easily, and so you can drive your buds down for a beer when your older (or if you already old enough).
Good luck
I will turn your horse into glue.
When I see the police riding horse I can't help but laugh. Swag.
You can always get a motorcycle, the price of fucking up with a 700 pound piece of machinery is much less than doing it with a 3000 pound one.
Don't give up on it. The driving test isn't really that hard (I just passed it) but you just need to practice more. Driving isn't easy once you start but it isn't that hard once you get used to it. Try driving a little slower and find someone who doesn't panic as much to help you.

If you're not that great of a driver, it may not be a good idea to get into something many drivers tend to not notice and almost hit. I've seen so many drivers change lanes right in front of a motorcyclist and almost cause an accident.
Not a fan of driving myself. But that doesn't mean I gave up on it.
Face it- we live in a world of cars.
Good, I don't want moody people with PMS driving with me on the road anyways.
I started driving recently, and I've hardly been criticized. The only problem I really have so far is I usually drive too far on either the left or right side of the road rather than being perfectly in the middle.

If you're on a highway it's not really necessary to be perfectly in the middle. I tend to stay more in the right so it creates more room in the middle of the road. In neighborhoods, you obviously don't want to be too close to the street so I tend to stay towards the left unless a car is coming towards me. It just depends on the situation. Just don't worry about staying perfectly in the middle. Most streets have plenty of room.
Thanks to those who gave encouragement. I didn't expect all of it to be, though, since this is newgrounds, which is how it went with a few posts.
But Mr., Mr., fucking a verb is implausible and therefore can't be done!
I don't see why you'd bother giving up. Nothing is easy the first time you try it, and driving is a pretty huge responsibility. I'm pretty much one hundred percent sure that they react this way because they want you to be the best driver that you can be. It's not just about you when it comes to driving, but everybody around a bad driver is in danger. So take what they say as far as criticism goes and use it constructively, even if the criticism sucks.
Giving up won't make you a better driver, and it would suck to be riding a bus your entire life.
Yeah, whatever.

Seriously Epic, because of your reply I feel like I should reply with a serious response.
To the OP, it gets much better trust me. When I was learning my dad was my driving instructor and he was an angry man. The very first day I made a mistake and he told me if I made that mistake again he would kill me and even punched me in the face, and I then developed the same feelings as you have. What was even more fucked up is if I was with actual students of his he would be nice to me if I made a mistake.
Once you start driving by yourself, it's a lot different and a lot more calming. At first you'll will be nervous as hell but eventually it will be second nature to you and it won't be an issue. You'll make mistakes sure, but you learn from those mistakes and apply them to the present.
Trust me driving from point a to b is better then walking, or taking a damn bus.
Dude, I know how you feel. The first time my father taught me how to drive (a couple of years ago) he fucking yelled at me nonstop, always criticized me for every minor flaw that I made, even stupid shit. Ever since then, I don't feel like driving, at all.

I'm that lazy bastard who doesn't bother to take down his damn Christmas lights. I still have the fucking kriss-kringle hats from last year!
I passed my drivers test on the fourth go.
If that's not inspiration I don't know what is.
And no my name is not Spongebob. I said fourth not "too many to count" or "out of pity".
Gotta be more aggressive, bro.
FUCK! COCKSUCKER JUST CUT ME OFF! GAAARRJABARAHR
just roll with it nerd
Listen to what they tell you that you're doing wrong and work on improving in that area. Driving is a hands on learning process, you have to get a feel for it, which means that you are going to fuck up sometimes when you're first learning. I think everybody gets bitched at when they fuck up while learning how to drive, that's because the person bitching at you knows how dangerous the road can be.
You shouldn't give up though, being able to drive is such a useful means of transportation. Sure you could take taxis, buses, and subways, but then you also have to wait for your ride and go their route. To me, public transportation seems like more of a hassle than just being able to drive yourself.
I've personally destroyed two cars but I guess that only proves that blonde girls ain't good drivers.
At least you don't live in California, the people that drive here are the worst.....
Also on the topic, my sister has failed her test three times and then she just said fuck it. And I bet her that I will get it on my first try (even with my phobia of driving/riding in cars). But I'm really not going to ever drive after I get my license just because of all the idiot drivers in California. Just getting it so I have it and can drive if I need to.
Hi.
Hey man, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, has been in your shoes. I used to be a terrible driver, and I know how you felt, especially because my Mom and Dad are not the best teachers to teach someone driving; the former being so panicky at the slightest break of the speed limit, the other one of the most impatient bastards ever (Love 'em to death, but still...) But keep at it dude. Like I said, I used to be very bad myself, and now most people compliment me on how safe a driver I am. Also, the test is NOT hard, or at least where I took it, we just went into a neighborhood that was virtually empty and drove around. In fact, I probably shouldn't have passed; I couldn't back around a corner (It was just nerves, I'm not retarded) and I couldn't parallel park (still have to work on that.) Driving, and life in general, is about constantly learning and adapting and getting better; you don't have to be a God at anything the first time you are tested or attempt it.
here's some motivation
quitting is for faggots.
Shoot I'm gonna take my drivers test soon, eventually I want to be able to go to Amsterdam in Europe.
