The movie was very funny on two levels.

The first level was it was raucous and silly. Most of the jokes and references you hear are like that. It definitely delivered on that level if you're able to tolerate the crassness of it all.

It also happened to be very clever in a tongue-in-cheek fashion. He acts as this incredibly racist middle eastern stereotype: ignorant, dirty, racist and homophobic, fanatically nationalist, sexist, whoremongering...and he goes through America as this character and through his interactions with Americans exposes these things in them.

So yeah I recommend it.

I thought it was hilarious last time I watched it. I absolutely hated how much people quoted it though, and they still do it to this day.

Bruno however, was a pile of wank.

The Ali G show is hilarious. The Borat movie is alright. It's weird because Borat very obviously is a cult movie but it almost doesn't feel like one.

I never got into it, I just kept thinking 'this is fucking stupid'. And not funny stupid. I thought I'd love it, after everyone saying it was hilarious, but I was disappointed.

I personally don't like when Americans try to interfere with Asian culture, by which they mostly create a false image of that culture, but I must say Borat made me lol few times.

It was a great movie, but than again, all those things he exposed in america are in every country from varying degrees.

I've never watch more than to the part he "falls in love" with Pamela Andersson.

There is still a cultural difference which western nations mostly just don't understand.

the gags are only funny the first time, but that's mainly because it's shock comedy. bruno was terrible aside the board room scene which i found funnier than anything in borat.

Sacha Baron Cohen is a cool guy though.
