I can understand blocking social sites to stop groups forming to protest but if they blocked everything else other than the BBS, then I guess they just hate the flashes and games

Nothing racist about it. Most counties in the Middle East are quite shit and he is correct. If he were to say "I love not being a resident of ashitty Middle Eastern country... because brown people stink and I hope they all die." Then he would have been racist.

There's a lot of subjectivity there don't you think? I'm pretty happy where I am, and I've been to more than a handful of western countries (although for only a week each), and I still prefer the culture around here.

UAE is actually a very good country to live in, apart from the freedom problems. Also, wikipedia puts it at 32nd in HDI, which is higher than Portugal.
