None of the above. However if I had to choose one, it'd be LOTR.
Hate 'em all, and I can't prefer a single one since I've only (for about 30 minutes) tried WOW.

All but one of those are shitty games.
LOTR may not have been renowned in its day, but now a days its received its just reward as a literary classic.
Gotta love strong overtones of capitalist expansion and brotherhood amongst all races and creeds.
also, THEY'RE NOT GAY, THEY'RE HOBBITS
Lord of the rings for sure. I only read the first book and the hobbit though. The second book has too many songs about elves who were drunk or something like that.
The movies are also great.

That works too. There are other cool fantasy computer games like the Warcraft RTS's, Heroes of Might & Magic, League of Legends, Dragon Age, Everquest, Diablo, Dungeon Siege, Guild Wars, as well as other tabletop games like Pathfinder, Mage Knight, Dragon Dice, Talisman, Runebound, Descent: Journeys in the Dark, and Runewars.

Ummmm Science Fiction and Fantasy are two different things you can't do this.
I prefer LOTR and Elder Scrolls, neither much more than the other though.
Warcraft. I know it's generic and unoriginal, but WoW has this great environment design.
I chose wow for the sole purpose of easy buy into factor, and the added bonous that its easy to play, visual and no need to plan for a game

World of Warcraft isn't a franchise, it's a game IN the franchise of Warcraft.
Also yea I like that one the most to. But seriously, you need to think more before you post.
Lords Of The Rings - loved the films and love the books. Magic: The Gathering would be a close second simply because I remember the hype they caused with trading cards back in primary school - you either collected Pokémon cards, Yu-gi-oh cards or Magic: The Gathering cards, and I collected all three.
