I'd tend to agree with you. It's not their fault it happened, but it's their fault they let it happen to them.
Disney movies are really a double edged sword. It teaches guys to be nice guys that treat girls like princesses. Girls learn that they want to be treated like princesses, but not by nice guys. Ever wonder why divorce rates are so high in the west? They married an average man, but when he stopped treating her like a princess, she get so bored and wonder what she ever saw in him.
This whole cycle is what "it" is in the first paragraph. This whole idea that kids know how they want to treat and be treated in later relationships, when they have barely any interaction with the opposite sex at such a young age. It doesn't help that these ideas are spoon-fed to them by the use of non-interactive television.
