I've had flash for a while now... And I tried some animations.. But, my animations always end up bad and terrible :(

Any tips for a beginner? Making it smooth, lip syncing, etc.

How do you guys animate?

(I really like Happy Harry's animating style, how can I animate some-what like him? Tips?)

Number one tip is you need a loooooot of time. That's the secret to making a good flash, particularly frame by frame animations. This typically means days, weeks, possibly months to make a flash like HappyHarry.
An animating tip is to draw keyframes of whatever you're animating, then using the onion skin tool to draw in the frames inbetween, then doing that as many times as needed to make your animation smooth. Beyond that, experience teaches you things. Tutorials are really effective too.

Animating at HappyHarry's level is going to take years for someone starting out.
The main thing is to look at tutorials and practice a lot.
Here's something to get you started.

Well to anyone wanting to learn animation, lemme just say this. I animated for two and a half years, then i read a book, and suddenly i actually knew something about what animation is. I actually knew how to do things, and i knew how to animate better. I won't say it automatically made me amazing, only practice can do that, but it helped more than anything i had tried up til that point. In fact, in the animation course i'm taking right now, the way the teacher teaches, and from what i've heard almost every teacher teaches, is as if they're taking straight out of the book and adding their own little twists.

The book i am speaking of is the animator's survival kit.

this doesn't mean if you read this book you won't need lessons, but if you're not planning on taking classes yet or at all, i would strongly recommend getting this book. I have read it over time and time again and i always learn something new.

You could always discover yourself while making your own animatics, here i placed a few examples of animatics, including the one for Tarboy by James Lee.

There's a really great book called "How to Cheat in Adobe Flash" by Chris Georgenes.

I browsed through it once at a bookstore and recently, I was working on a project with lots and lots of lip sync. The lip sync work drove me nuts, so I went out and spent the $40 for the book.

It was a lifesaver. The nesting lip sync technique has saved a lot of time.
