If there is anything going on in East Sussex or surrounding areas, could someone post about it please?

No, theres nothing happening here in Brighton and Hove. Im pretty sure the rest of sussex is the same.

of course it doesn't, there isn't a justification. forget about the idea of any of this being just, unjust or in the name of justice. that's all middle-class, white man's bullshit.

the idea of justice is as valuable to these kids as a photograph of an air molecule is to a drowning man.

Back when they did go to school, they were given little green cards that say "hey, you're poor and different, have your lunch for free". They ate their free lunch and broke the toys in the toy box cause they didn't learn to play nice and got searched by police on the way home.

They live 3 doors down the road but they live in a different world. Because they can't read and they can't write and they can't think, the society that we flaunt in their face ins't accessible to them. So i guess somewhere along the line they choose to be criminals instead. Like their mommy and daddy and uncle who's in jail.

We don't understand these kids. They're so inarticulate they feel as if they have no mouth but they must scream so they do so in the only way they know how.

You could have (and many people have) written this script back 20 years ago. And 20 years ago before then.

You don't know what working class means.

You know, this would be the best and most relevant post in this entire fucking thread if you hadn't written it in the stupid stylised type of writing you insist on using. Grow up and stop trying to hide your insights behind spite. It's incredibly annoying.

You could be so much more if you'd just stop playing with people and things that don't matter.

Stop emailing me, i'm not gonna respond again. Move on. Don't riot.

Being poor is no excuse to do all of this shit. After my mothers parents became alcoholics and they lost everything her family was so poor that she brought her and her friends lunch from school home to be able to feed them. They went without power off and on constantly and when she was still in elementary school she had to raise all the kids in the family.

And yet she strove to go past that. To move past her poverty stricken life and she didn't turn to crime... she worked hard and make something of herself. Income has nothing to do with this... personal responsibility exist.

your completely missing the fucking point of this entire fucking mess. your family history is sweet but it's entirely irrelevant.

One black swan proves that not all swans are white.

these kids are kids and they don't care about justice. do you care about making sure you have a diversified stock investment portfolio? no. different worlds.

they live and die in these towns.

They spend their time in smokey rooms where haggled old women with cheap perfume say it never happens for people like us. The toilets smell of desperation and the streets all echo of aggregation. they wonder why they can't get not sleep when they've got nothing to do and they've had nothing to eat.

You make good point but I still dont know what you're getting at. like should we improve the lifes of these people because it sounds pretty shit in these crappy towns and I would commit suicide if I had to live like that

Treat people like dirty animals, they behave like angry dirty animals. Taking hope away from a man is the cruelest thing you can do.

They eat from dirty dishes from a tv meal that went cold from the wind throuh a smashed up window. They cant go out if anybody calls them and they cant have a bath when there`s no hot water. Their friends are out on the town again and they ask themselves if it'll ever end and it`s all too much for their head to take, just a matter of time before they break.

The Smiths.

Also, to the person (Sorry I can't remember your name) who said this will descend into a V for Vendetta style anarchy/despotism - I really doubt that. You say there are only 3 legs holding up Britain's economy, the Crown, the Banks, and I believe you said Insurance. Now, there are many more factors to take into account, for example all the massive retailers like McDonalds, and Apple. They put in huge amounts of money into the goverment through taxes, and they are big enough to be pretty much unaffected by the riots.

Possible exception being the burning of the Sony warehouse.

Yeah, but the thing is, we're all relatively well off, we have free time, we have internet, we have disposable income.

The kids on the street (at least, the ones with something to complain about, not all of them are like this I realise, some are just dicks), don't know any different. They never have. Their parents were on the bread line, and their grandparents, and their great-grandparents. And they will be, and so will their kids.

Its sort of starting up in Norwich.

Yesterday PC World. Today people were just trying to throw shit at the police and break in to shops.
Not as bad as it is in any other area though, a lot more quite as the police are geared up and ready.

That'll be insured. Sony will be (relatively speaking) fine. They'll pay hundreds of thousands of pounds in premiums on the off chance that shit like this happens.

except for a few dicks who tried to go to the riots, but I was wishing they would get kettled.

If anyone can identify the little fucking shit in this video, contact police.

You see his face at around 33 seconds.

I can't identify them, but do you know if the police already know about this video? As far as I am aware, they don't have any photographic evidence of who started that fire, so it may be a good idea to contact them with the video anyway.

I'd like someone in England to report it, as I haven't been able to figure out which service/ police station to report it to.

They didn't actually seem to have done anything wrong. Unless the police actually did put a curfew up?

Don't worry Londoners. The sale of baseball bats has gone up 40,000% on Amazon, so in two days when the baseball bats all arrive to the people who purchased them, then there will be thousands of pissed, law abiding citizens retaliating with adequate weaponry. Just promise not to bash baseball after this, Londoners. It may save your city.

I was going to report it to crimestoppers. There's an online form which I feel is more appropriate as you can include the video URL, or call 0800 555 111. I'll do it if no-one else will/has.

PC World was fine, it was just a couple of kids kicking off near Anglia Square. Great Yarmouth is looking to be a bit of a shithole (even more so...) tonight. I work part time in a bar in Norwich, and we've been given police contingency plans just in case of any flare ups.

Don't you start on all of that. If I remember correctly, during the riots earlier in the year you were advocating the smashing of buildings and trying to justify it, along with slagging off the police. Now you're saying that it's the Government's fault that there are less police around and that you now think that we're better off with them rather than without them? Make your fucking mind up, idiot.
That's because these two scenarios, as far as I can tell, are completely fucking different. My friend in the protests last time told me he was helplessly stuck on a bridge until four in the morning and it was freezing. I thought it was a good amount of police but the kettling just had to stop. I don't feel I've been inconsistant. That was snappy of you, Jim.

You're right, the scenarios ARE different. The point is, SO WERE THE POLICING METHODS. When your friend was caught up in the kettling that happened at the riots, he would have been amongst those causing trouble. When they're instructed to make a swift decision on how to handle a crowd, it is impossible for them to differentiate between those who're there to peacefully protest and those who're there to cause havoc, as they're all in the same fucking crowd.

Had the police this time around taken the same approach as they did then, there's a possibility that things in Tottenham wouldn't have gotten to the point they did and the copycat rioting would never have happened.

They took the softly softly approach in Tottenham because the riots were preceded by a peaceful demonstration by grieving family members, friends, and community members. Had they taken the same kettling approach there, as the riots began, they'd have been criticised for being insensitive.

You're also right about me being snappy. That's because I'm fed up with people like you who just like to pick holes in everything. The police take affirmative and heavy action in one instance in large numbers, you moan about it like they did something wrong. They don't take affirmative and heavy action and don't have the numbers in other instances and you moan about that.
