Yeah Salford is certainly starting to get riots. A few people I know have said they've had to head home due to the tension. Manchester is no longer safe.

I know there are people out there with far more reason to be annoyed than me, but god damn it. Typical that this type of stuff would start to kick off a few days before I'm due to be in Manchester for four days. Staying smack bang in the centre on Sunday night too.

Anyone will make an invalid excuse to get free stuff. Thats what riots are for, and thats why they exist. If the father shot the first bullet, then he had it coming.

Leave it to one person to kill/arrest hundreds of others and ruin the lives of business owners.

All the shops round here have been boarded up and people have been sent home from work early.

They're expecting big trouble tonight.

At this point a counter riot seems like a good idea?

If Birmingham got hit last night, I can see it hitting Coventry tonight. Fun fun fun, considering I'm going into town later on this evening.

You're going into Cov town or Birmingham town? Most places and clubs are closing tonight for safety.

It would be like that epic final battle from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, only more epic.

Fortunately I'm not in Salford at the minute, cause I live right next to that area when I'm at Uni. However I've heard from friends it's not as bad as it sounds, no looting or anything and the police have said there was only around 20 youths and one brick was thrown.

Did the drug dealer get hold of the same ammunition the police use? The bullet found in the radio was consistent with what the cops use.

BBC just reported that there has now been cases of looting in Salford.

I live in the northwest UK, and I wouldn't be surprised if tonight the little faggots around here kick off.

in all fairness there are definatly a couple of places around here that could do with being torched, and I certainly wouldn't mind a new TV

Look guys, just stop and think a while, not that I am telling you what to do or anything man, BUT-

I've got free hugs, a few bongos to start the drum circle and some William Blake poems for us all to read. Why don't we all just... chillax, man?

Well it's been confirmed that the gun found at the scene of Mark Duggans death wasn't fired for what it's worth.

Great. I suppose that negates the fact that he had it on him in the first place.

Stop using violence to deal with the rioters...has there been a single case of violence from the police yet in this whole incident? Silly Iran.

I doubt they will go around there, and I hope not also since it would be closer to me.

I'm just starting to ignore it and continue at the moment, hoping it won't come near me. I can't really do anything to stop the low lives as it is now so I'm going to hope the government finally do something about it, or a vigilante does.

No, but it puts more pressure on the police to justify their actions if he were surrendering.

I don't think anyone would really give a shit one way or another, anyone who concentrates on this person being killed and not other things is sort of missing whats going on. Whether they killed him for a legitimate reason or mutilated his body isn't going to change anything but the press and their attempts at trying to say the riots were justified in some way.

One thing is certain, the government have to abandon plans to cut police numbers, but I got a feeling tonight will be alright in comparison to last night which was just plain anarchy.

Closest place to me I can see riots breaking out would be Chester or Liverpool. I believe there have already been minor riots in Liverpool? I can't see much happening in Chester though..
