You never really listen to the utter shit of the 60's and 70's because it simple isn't played anymore. Go back then and you'll have heard the same sort of shit that you hear now. In 20 or so years time nobody will be replaying the utter crap from these days, they'll only be looking back on the good stuff, and there will be some precocious brat just as snotty as you saying that the 90's and 00's were the best years for music, ever.

There is actually a lot of good music still coming out. It's all indie though, so it usually only gets internet exposure.

All the eras had bad music, the only reason why you rarely hear it is because nobody cared about the shit. Hence why you only hear the well known artists from past eras, music is just as shit as it was 20 years ago.
