Series Animation vs One Shot

I guess there is something about the pull of the same thing different day that makes people do series vs just one video. What do you guys thing of series animations? Should there be more of them? More of the same awesome? Or should there just be more one shot animations, with one awesome MIND BLOWING video?

I am one of those people that suffers from multi-part series creation. I will have one idea that isn't sufficed in one idea or animation. It's usually continuous and long and probably unfinished. I am considering making my first animation a series instead of a short of a standard movie and I just wanted the opinions of the people before I started on it.
