Atheists.. read please!

Ahem... Don't wanna start a flame war in any way but just wanted to share my thoughts w. Atheists.

First off, you guys have good arguments lol. I mean sure it makes sense how you guys put it, but the way i see it is that no one knows nor will ever know until they die. With that being said, Atheists who believe Christians are crazy and scared to die are like them, in a way.

I believe that when we hear the possibility of there being an afterlife that sticks with us til the day we die. Some people (Christians) choose to accept it and live their life a different way in order to please God. Some people (atheists) dont accept it and try to rationalize why he ISN'T real.... But I think that all Atheists still have that doubt deep down in their subconscious that God is real and that they are making a mistake just like Christians have the same doubt at times that God might not be.

So basically what im saying is that no one knows and that we as the human race are all trying to figure out what happens and are all scared of dying. If you say youre not then i applaud you bc ur a braver man than I am :p

Anyway, for those of you wondering I am Christian and I just have doubts sometimes just like everyone else in the world lol. No amount of facts against the 'non existence' of God is ever gonna change my mind..

You just gotta have faith man !!! :)

In my opinion, fear of death comes from the unsureness of an afterlife. A lot of Christians say that they know for a FACT that there is an afterlife, but deep inside, they don't know for sure, and they doubt themselves sometimes. Nobody knows, which is why you have to be prepared.

As an Atheist, I don't believe in "God" because "God" is described as someONE that makes good things happen in the world, that has feelings, acts like a person, blah blah blah. If he was that good then he wouldn't make bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people.

The problem exists that atheists think God is a logical reasonable being that The Bible make it out to be. Honestly, God has more in common with the Cthulhu mythos than the Christian religion.

both theists and atheists are irrational. there is no concrete evidence about the existence or non-existence of god. the fact that science is able to explain a lot of things does not imply the universe is not created by a deity. scientific theory is nothing more than a good model that fits our observation.

but the idea of not knowing what comes after life is very uncomfortable, so people have their own philisophy and understanding of our world.

The fact isn't that we don't know, it's that both of us don't know and Christians are the ones making the claim that there exists something after death.

We say they are crazy since it's comparable to a hobo telling us that he has one million dollars, and expects us to believe him, even though he tells me to believe simply through 'faith' that he has one million dollars. The burden of proof falls upon him to prove to me that he has one million dollars. In addition, I don't fear death. I fear the pain, however.

That's fine, as long as it doesn't involve driving planes into buildings or massacre innocents to appease said God.

I don't rationalize the reason why there might not be a God. You can't prove a negative. If I don't think previously stated hobo has said million, the burden of proof doesn't lie upon me to proof that the million doesn't exist. Once again, Power of Suggestion.

Bravery has nothing to do with it. You wouldn't consider yourself brave to rebuke the Islamic doctrine, because you've been raised to believe your specific ideology. Anything else lies within the tired Pascal's Wager. I honestly think that when I die, I'll return to whatever I was before I was born. And again, I fear the pain, not the death.

I honestly couldn't care less what you believe, and for the second time...You cannot prove a negative! I could honestly say that I can be Pastafarian, and no amount of facts against the non-existance of him is going to change my mind.

In the end, this makes you seem naive and abtuse. Again, I don't care if you believe the hobo has a million dollars, I'm simply going to need some tangible proof, since the Euclidean logic behind an omnipresent God refutes itself.

I don't think that its irrational, just that they are both equally rational.. you know what i mean? theres a possibility of both. it all really comes down to what u truly want to believe. But other than that i agree with you 100%
