It is silly that people who like Spongebob and the like can say that this show is stupid and childish etc, when really entertainment wise they fit the same field of good cartoons.
If someone did say that, that would be pretty hilarious. Shows like Spongebob definitely fit in the same field, and as far as I'm concerned they also fit the same demographic as MLP.
But of course one is about ponies thus can't possibly be good. Don't ever remember anyone complaining about people liking spongebob.
I'm sure some people have, naturally but it's nothing like the complaining about people liking MLP. I'm going to guess that it's because Spongebob didn't explode, and build up a massive fanbase over the internet, thus it didn't draw a whole bunch of attention to itself.
If you took the elements of Friendship is Magic, and put it in a whole new setting with new, non-pony characters, no one would bitch about it at all.
Also I've openly stated my love for other cartoons a lot, Fairly Odd Parents is one I talk about liking a lot, yet not once has anyone said anything bad about me liking that either. Really, how is liking these cartoons different from liking MLP? The difference is that it teaches morals better and more friendship in it and general niceness and happiness,
There really is no difference in terms of liking them, which is the funny thing. It's just MLP has a huge vocal following, and those other ones don't, plus the whole moral stuff apparently puts a lot of people off, which I suppose I can see why, but that's no reason to spite a show, and it's fan base.
and frankly it has more character development than a lot of shows out there that end exactly the same after each episode. So either people have a problem with happy things or have a problem with good things like character development, which to be honest I don't see how that could ever be a bad thing.
I think it's a mix of an overload of "happy", and just the shows nature in general. Not to mention MLP's past history, and the general hate towards the show, and the fans seem to put a lot of people off from it.
The funny part about this, is that people are judging the show based on everything, but the show itself.
People just need to learn that theres 2 parts, theres the show and the meme, and they aren't the same.
I agree, and while I find the meme funny at times, I'm all for the show as well.
