Does anyone here like tea? 2011-07-30 01:33:04 Reply

Hello Newgrounds ^.^
I'm fasting today and drinking nothing but tea and water.
Obviously, I'm also on Newgrounds.
So I ask, how many of you like tea?
Be it iced or hot. Black, green, white or oolong.
What is your opinion?

Also, why do I have a feeling that I'm going to get a lot of responses saying that coffee is better u.u;

Iced tea is actually my main drink. You know, aside from milk for breakfast and stuff. Yay for tea!

Tea is quite possibly the greatest beverage ever. I absolutely love it. In fact, I regularly drink about a quart and a half in a sitting.

I don't really like tea that much. It's just too natural to me.

I do like soda and iced coffee though.

I can easily drink an entire pot by myself.
may I ask if you have a preference?
also, have you ever had loose leaf? it's so much better than a teabag.

I'm not much of a tea fan, but when I do, I usually drink earl grey with lemon.

Or, when I worked at the Bux, I'd get a passion tea lemonade.

good stuff it was like crack

you need to try really high quality tea ^.^
it's so amazing!
also, bubble tea (especially from fruit juice concentrate)
it's tea but it tastes like the most epic juice ever <3
the tapioca pearls are a bit odd though (and very much an acquired taste)
but they're awesome once you get used to them.

Regular green tea, normally. But I enjoy myself a good bit of black tea every once in a while.

And even though it tastes completely different, I like iced tea mix just as much, if not more.

I haven't, though I'll keep that in mind next time I buy some tea.

I'm fond of a strong, not too flowery, Earl Gray Tea - sat for about 10-15 minutes, with light cream and honey. I buy it local, loose-leaf. Damn is that good.

Why, yes actually. I normally drink my tea straight, but I'm lazy and use tea bags. Black tea is the stuff my family always drink, but I like all of them, essentially.

Except Earl Grey.

well, truth be told, it's fairly expensive. the tea itself isn't too bad to buy, but you have to get a tea pot as well. or you can buy a teabag and put loose leaf in there.
sadly, loose leaf tea is a dying custom, especially in America.
I would highly recommend looking up tea lounges in your area though. there's nothing better than going to a lounge and getting a pot of tea (maybe with a snack on the side)

In the end I think it isn't any more expensive than buying tea bags. Earl Grey, for instance, is about 8 dollars a half-pound at this place in San Francisco. A half pound of tea is quite a lot. I went through a quarter in about 3 week's time, whereas if I drink coffee every day I go through about a pound a month.

You can buy a relatively cheap strainer (a dollar? two?) that you can put in your cup, put the tea in it, and then pour the boiling water on top of it. That's what I do.

Yes, tea is actually one of my favorite drinks. My grandmother makes this iced tea that is fucking orgasmic. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that I drink a jug of that sweet stuff every day I am at her house.

Yes indeed; it's the same mechanism as a teapot but directly in your cup! It has two things on the sides that hold it up out of the teapot.
Like so

Only around the end of the bag, just like normal.

I do loves me some tea. I suppose I'm most partial to green tea, matcha to be specific. I actually participated in a tea ceremony where we prepared our own matcha, which was rather extraordinary.

My fiance loves tea. There are so many canisters in the pantry he should own stock in Teavana. I like it too but prefer it in colder weather. Too hot now.

Teavana is the bee's knees. Every time I enter one of their shops, I have a bit of every sample at least twice. I then feel like a moocher, and either quickly exit the store or buy some tea of my own.

I've bought a few, but the only problem with those canisters is sometimes you don't go through them quickly enough before the looseleaf looses its potency.

Mine is from the thrift store. It was white, but is yellowing, with lots of burn marks all over. It's rustic!

I went for several years of my life rarely drinking anything other than iced tea and I like to drink hot tea sometimes in the winter or whenever I get sick. I drink coffee more often, but I still enjoy tea a little more. I also love the smell of tea, every time I make myself some hot tea I always smell the steam as it comes up. I have pretty much liked every kind of tea I've ever drank except for stuff that comes bottled/canned like Brisk or Lipton, the only exception to that would be Arizona green tea.

did it come with a strainer? I've never seen one that has at the thrift store (and I can never find proper sized strainers for things like that)
anyway, I've seen some really pretty ones at the salvation army ^.^
and for pretty cheap. again, no strainer though (though if it did, that'd probably be a little gross, knowing the quality of thrift stores)
