What I don't understand is why dubstep all of a sudden just became popular now?
Not to sound hipster or anything, but I honestly was listening to dubstep long before it became popular :3 and when I told people about it, they reacted like most people are in here "OH THAT'S SHIT, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT", etc.
Anyway, I don't mind it all that much. It's like the 'djent' of dance music, with way too much bass.
see, i don't mind the more chilled dubstep like burial, though i haven't really listened to much. but the brostep that's being discussed here i don't really have much time for. it's dull and boring
the song in the current renault clio adverts is pretty cool though
Dubstep is really the only dance music I never listen to, because I dont like any of the popular dubstep artists at the moment like bogore and skrillex.
Anyway, just found out the Kooks are still touring, which surprises me. May have to go see them just to remind myself of the time when my CD of Inside in/Inside out was played non stop.

I used to love inside in/inside out, but don't go see them live. I did the summer after their second album and they were terrible.
matchbox is still an awesome song though

That's a shame I'd of had no problem seeing you! D:

kaiser chiefs are shit but the put on a decent live show, drums are alright, but n&f are ace, and even better live.

Their new music is absolutely terrible.
TesseracT's lead singer has left the band only weeks before I'm going to see them. Sucks because he was extremely talented, and they've replaced him with someone I can only imagine isn't as good. But I guess I shouldn't knock him before i've seem him perform.

I saw them opening for The Devin Townsend Project in October last year.
I thought they were okay. It just felt like a ton of Meshuggah worship with a metalcore vocalist to me. But eh.
Anyone here know if Ghostland Observatory is worth seeing live? They're playing here next month and I kind of want to go. :P

You pay for the plane ticket and I'll pay for the gig tickets.

I'd come along as well just so I could spend the whole time mocking Cole.
That would be because Bombay Bicycle Club are involved. Also going to see the Kooks in October in Newcastle for free, I suddenly have a few gigs to look forward to.

+28 bands seen.
They did, they were fantastic.
OFWGKTA were amazing.
The Strokes sucked.
Fell asleep standing up in Muse.
This band played the BBC Introducing stage and were god damn amazing, my favourite new discovery from the festival.
Just saw Buckethead last Tuesday, it was such a fantastic show.

Tyler did some from goblin and bastard, Hodgy did some shit I don't remember very well.
I do remember Radical and Transylvania.
We were in the absolute eye of the shitstorm. There was everybodies campsite AND THEN THERE WAS OURS. With no food or water for five days. One hour of sleep each night. We went insane and angry and started beating tins of spam with hammars. We shat in each others tents and one of us picked it up in a rice pudding can and started walking around with it.
And I wouldn't have traded it for the world.

what the fuck are you talking about?
Is Buckethead doing a US tour at the moment? I've seen about 20 different people talking about his gigs recently. I'd like to see his slappeh skills
I'm gutted that I havn't gone to any festivals this year :( I was meant to be going to Download Festival but that went down the pan. Next year to make up for it I plan on at least going to two. I'll have to wait and see which ones.
Seeing this band soon, I'm pretty excited. Check them out, even though they don't have much material online, it's aaalll gooood.
Bands I've seen this year:
My Morning Jacket x2
Matt & Kim
Band of Skulls
John Butler Trio
Pretty Lights x2
Old Crow Medicine Show
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe
Yonder Mountain String Band
Hoping to go to Blackwater and Moogfest to end the year.
Also, I can't believe not one mention of the best live band out there, My Morning Jacket.
