Yeah, only saw them at Reading last summer, having not listened to the second album, but it was still good.

Their first album is by far the best in my opinion. I mean the second is also great, but I'll always love the first a little more.

Also Joe, you can still come to Rise Against if you want to. Provided you can put up with Fletcher lmao, its only £21.56.

Ah man, I had an idea for a club similar to this years ago. "Concert review club" was my idea, but everytime I sat down to make the thread(Which, don't get me wrong, was only like twice haha) I couldn't wrap my mind around how to make the OP. Good job at making this thread, the idea totally passed from me over time. haha

These are the shows i'm thinking of attending in the future:

August 19th = Adrenaline Mob (AM is Russel Allen, Mike Portnoy, Mike Orlando, Rich Ward & Paul DiLeo. So it's basically a super group)
August 31st = Kamelot
September 17th = Evergrey, Powerglove & The Absence
September 19th = Opeth & Katatonia
September 20th = Kyuss & The Sword
September 23rd = Primus
September 26th = Enslaved, Ghost & Alcest
October 5th = Explosions In The Sky
October 10th = Dream Theater
October 30th = Between The Buried And Me, Animals As Leaders & TesseracT

As you can probably guess, i'm into lots of metal. But i'm also a big fan of a lot of punk, grunge, progressive rock, some industrial, some electronic, some ska, etc. - I pretty much like everything that isn't metalcore/deathcore crap. (And even those genres have a few bands I like)

Away to see a local band called Full Metal Racket play tonight. They just cover a lot of 70/80/90's rock and metal stuff. I don't think Iv'e actually seen them play before, but a lot of people around here seem to like them.

To top it all off, all my booze for the night is free.

Mate, come to the Brixton one instead, we can make a mini NG meetup of it!

Animals As Leaders

Jealous of that one, where are they playing?

Saw three local bands tonight, Eton Mess, Someone and someone else. I was only sober for the first band, hence why I only remember their name. But anyway I had free drinks for the entire night so it was pretty chill and I'm still feeling pretty buzzed from it.

It's nice to get home and not be totally wasted. Plus, I've been standing up for the last 5 hours so it's nice to finally get a seat. The band were alright although I can't say I was particularly paying a huge amount of attention to them in the end. I noticed they did a cover of Ace of Spades close to the end and although it's definitely an overplayed song it was a welcome addition to the night.

Both my dad and my uncle were out watching the band too, so as predicted, I didn't have to spend a penny on booze. It was all bought for me.

1.) I'm seeing it in boston, and that's two hours away. I don't know how much further i'd be willing to go. :P
2.) I have no fucking clue where the hell Brixton is in the first place.

You sure? London is close to Massachusetts.

If you like AAL, check out Scale The Summit, Bushwhack and The Motel Matches/Motel Mattress. (They changed their name)

I only really like Alaska onwards. Their first two albums were too core-esque and overall poserish for me to enjoy. I really like their new EP too.

Some other "core" bands that are really good are Protest The Hero and TesseracT.

Also, they're not core at all, but check out The Devin Townsend Project. They're really proggie and heavy goodness. Also, one of the funnest bands i've ever seen and i've seen them three times. :D (Each time, they were amazing)

Just saw Good Charlotte at the o2 Sheppard's Bush in London.

It was an awesome gig, definitely would go and see them again. Now I'm really looking to go to more gigs, especially Death From Above 1979. I've got Rise Against coming up in November too, which I've got all the tickets for already, and they're standing tickets, as opposed to the seating ones we had for Good Charlotte, so it should be a lot more fun. I mean, they were doing little circle pits and even a (pretty shitty) mosh pit at Good Charlotte, so Rise Against should be quite hectic.

I recommend anyone who even has a little bit of interest in Good Charlotte go and see them, they're an amazing live band.
