The proper titles of this thread should have been "Amy Winehouse dead-Absolutely no one surprised".

Its awful that she died and all and I hope she rests in peace, but honestly it will be so god damn annoying to hear the media switch personalities, they build them up and up and up, only to drop them and berate them constantly to the point where you can not think about the person with-out having an insult come to mind, it gets to the point where you would think there would be a celebration over her death, but no they side-wind and proclaim as if she was jesus.
Just like MJ now it will be "sacrilege" to so much as make fun of her.

This actually doesn't surprise me, although I never realised she was only 27 (I always thought she looked a lot older than that).

Wow, that's sad she must have died of a drug overdose.
But even even if she was a drug addict and an acolhol abuser, she was still a human being, so rest in peace Amy Winehouse you'll be truly missed. :(

You would never show this kind of sympathy to some crackhead on the streets, so quit acting like you actually care.
Yea, if said crackhead's music was popular, maybe. Do you know how many failed musicians out there died from drugs, and they actually had some pretty good songs, but nobody gives a shit? I couldn't even name all the millions of people who had talent, remained undiscovered, and died without leaving something worthy on their tombstone. I can't name anyone of those people because I just don't know about them.
As for Amy Winehouse, it sucks. But it's not like she wrote Smells Like Teen Spirit or anything. Club 27 can do better. (In my opinion, that "rehab" song sucks.) I could see if she had at least covered a good song, like Jimi Hendrix did for "All Along the Watchtower"... but she didn't even do any good covers.

Actually, I don't think people will care as much about Amy Winehouse. She was a household name of sorts, (not to everyone) but I don't think many people can name more than one of her songs if they were pressed for an answer.
Michael Jackson can't even be compared to Amy Winehouse. MJ was dragged through the mud for a far longer time, but he had much better songs, and was a child star. He held a special place in people's hearts because people grew up listening to his music for over 40 years.
Besides, people make fun of MJ, and not everyone gives a crap. It's going to be a lot easier to make fun of Winehouse without people getting upset about it. She was a one-hit wonder and a junkie.

Though i was never a fan of her or her music, i must admit that her death is a bit shocking (purely because it happened only 24 hours after the devastation in noway)
i mean i do think her song rehab is good but thats it, if anything im more of a fan of her influence on singers that i do like (Adele and La Roux)
but i dont see why this has surprised some people, especially since, from the first time i heard of her (first time i heard rehab) i knew that this was not someone that could survive the game without help.
if anythings shes an example of how NOT to fuck up your life
but unlike pathetic singers like Bieber, Black and (to an extent, but thats not to say i don't like a few of her songs) Miley Cyrus/Katy Perry, Amy was a likable character.
even if only because you could throw easy jokes at her.

If I had to predict the cause of death, I'd put my bets on drug overdose. That's what happens to all those musicians...

Is it too early to include her in the 27 club yet?
