Farthest you ever walked?

I don't know about you but I sure walk a LOT. Mainly because I don't have a license yet so my two feet are currently the most frequent way of transportation I get around by. Fortunately I live right near a shopping center and even a library in walking distance but the other day I walked six miles to go to the mall which is something I never done also walking back would make 12 clocking in at about 4 hours of walking

So anyway what's the farthest distance you have gone by foot?

Seventeen miles. Me and a friend decided to go for a very long walk. I really enjoy walking and do quite alot of it each day.

Well in high school I was forced to go on ridiculous tramping trips (bushwalking plus camping) in the "natural wonder" that is New Zealand.

So I guess ~35km (~22 miles).

I walked about 7 miles or so when I got lost in the scorching sand dunes of northern Michigan.

I don't know about distance, but I'd have to say that the longest walk I've had was about 1 hour and 9 minutes. I was walking home from my high school, which is somewhat far from my house.

Over the course of a week I walked about 130 miles with my sister. My sister then walked another 100 miles in the following 5 days. The longest in a day on that walk was 22 miles I think, but there were quite significant hills envolved.

It was quite emasculating since my sister was far better at it than I was.

Well, the farthest I can remember were around 15 miles.

I used to go on hikes through the woods with some friends of mine and we would end up exploring the woods for probably about 6-8 hours, only stopping to take a piss or for a quick water break. That's on days that we didn't go swimming in this big stream that was in the middle of the woods. Not sure how much distance we covered, but it had to be a pretty good amount. It was enough to make our legs and feet good and sore by the end of it.

Yeah right. Sand dunes... Michigan? NO.

But I've walked from my school to my home and my home to school on a somewhat regular basis back in the days when I couldn't get a ride. It took about 40 minutes to an hour to do so, but it's nice to stop by a 7-11 and get a snack while on the way home. Kinda sucked when it was really hot outside and I was wearing jeans.

I once went on a sixteen day school camp about 7 months ago. When we hiked we hiked rugged mountains, long bushes....we walked for about 7/8 hrs a day. It wasn't fun but looking back on it, it was actually one of my best school experiences, funny how it works like that.

About 24 kilometers once when I was 12 or so. My dad and I got lost in the woods. We started walking at around 13:00 and finally got back to the car at about 18:30. My feet were pretty sore afterwards.

Once, when I was a squire, I was attacked by a neighboring lord. My horse was killed and I suffered a blow to the head from a mace. When I woke up, my helmet was ruined so I discarded my armor and began the sixty mile journey back to my home town. Unfortunately I lost my way and ended up traveling over eighty miles in total. I almost starved to death along the way.

I can't drive either and refuse to pay extortionate bus fairs so I walk just about everywhere.

Not sure the furthest I've ever walked in terms of miles but I walked for a good eight hours straight once. Was at university, had no money, was sick of everyone around me and just decided to walk in a direction to kill some time and get away from everything. Ended up literally miles away from anywhere I was familiar with and then had to try and retrace my steps home.

Oh, and once I went out drinking and tried to walk home. Evidently I was in no fit state to do so because I woke up in a different town. Had to find the nearest motorway and hitchhike home. Two different cars stopped to pick me up on the way and it still took my a few hours to get home.

Farthest I've ever walked is probably something like 4 miles, which is funny because the farthest I've ever run was six miles. I guess I just never go out walking that frequently.

I think the longest I ever walked was this one time where I was actually going to get the mail as I live in a gated community. Now that I think about it, it's probably not even that long, but I know that to get there was at least a mile and another one to get back. Probably the farthest distance I ever ran too, because the most I ever did in a gym class was a mile, and that does not include going back anywhere.
