How to animate soldier rolling?

So, I want this little thing in my flash game I'm working on, where if you are crouched and hit left or right, you roll instead. What I'm stuck at is that I have no clue how to animate someone rolling. Any help guys?

If you want an example of what I going for, look for ALIAS 3 and play it.

try to plan it out first make a rough animation then slowly add the details of the soldier

Yeah, just start with a stick figure or something and flesh it out.
