Hopefully some of you who are Linux savvy can help me out on this one...
Just recently installed Linux Mint 9 Xfce (It has long term support) and everything is working fine, including my wireless adapter. That being said, for some reason I cannot pick up the signal to my home wireless network. I can pick up both of my neighbors routers, but mine doesn't appear anywhere.
I've went into the terminal and typed up "iwlist wlan0 scan" and it picks up nothing different from what I have stated. My router is a Netgear WNDR3400.
Is my router just incompatible with Linux, or is there some third-party software that may work?

I got the same problem with my FiOS router, I have to be like 2 inches away for it to connect. Every other router works just fine. Try disabling the firewall on your router.

Did disabling the Firewall work for you?
I just don't like the idea of not having the firewall running at all. Hopefully I can put some permissions into it to change that.

Disabling the firewall let my ipod connect all the time (Which it didn't before) as well as my laptop connects alot more often now instead of not at all. Give it a shot.

Changing my NAT settings to Open did nothing unfortunately.
The only remaining boxes I have left to uncheck are Port Scan and DoS Protection. I feel that these are not posing much of a threat either.
It seems as though I am going to have to get another router if I want this to work out.
