People whose name you don't know

I've been going to this pizza shop almost every Saturday for maybe 2 years. Every time I go I see the same guy who works there and we always talk while I'm waiting. It's been 2 years and I still don't know his name. He knows mine, but I don't know his.

So is there someone you've known forever, who's name you still don't know?

I was at a dinner at the weekend and was standing with a group of people, most of who were friends but all of which I actually knew.

I was doing some introductions to a friend who had just arrived and I got around to one girl whose name I had suddenly forgotten and I just went blank.

So awkward.

At least 50% of the people I regularly interact with are known to me simply as Dude.

When someone introduces him/her self to me, i always forget i should be the last to speak.
So i speak too quickly and the other person speaks simultaneously with me. As a result we both didn't hear each others names followed by a silence where we both try to figure out who should speak next.

Yea, that happens sometimes in school. But I never have the courage to actually approach them and ask them their name.

In the school I used to go to there was a staff worker who I'd chat with all the time, and it wasn't until the end of the year when I learned her name was "Sue". She was awesome.

I don't really talk at all unless asked a question, and even then I keep my answers short.

I also tend to know everyone's name, being I unconsciously tend to observe others.

I usually know their name, interest, and a few other things.

a few of my regulars that i've known ever since i started working at my coffee shop about 4 years ago, i can't remember their name, or i feel embarassed or weird to randomly ask their name.
