It's a shame you can't edit the color scheme of the facebook "Like" button to match Newgrounds' colors. Seems a bit jarring against the charcoal grey of the site.
I doubt facebook would allow that color alteration though.

Hmm...
While I don't like the button, it is a good way to bring extra monies to Newgrounds. Maybe my revenue will finally go past this:

I'll share my thoughts as well...
I don't mind either way whether there are like buttons, since it's a good way to expose the flash to other people who rarely visit--or never visit--Newgrounds. In this way, more people might visit Newgrands, visit the forums, and have a new member!
Of course, the opposite holds true. This system can also be abused by spam accounts on the bad flashes to attract the wrong attention, giving Newgrounds a worse look. Plus, it's kinda' like a nerd detector... It will show my friends, "Hey! I play games by myself!"
I'll give it a week to see what I think afterwards.

People still talk about the Crimean War? Cool beans.

Easy solution: make that "Share This!" box always visible and put facebook in there.
Fucking Newgrounds always getting worse.

So what? Always putting the thoughts of new members aside with that excuse. Newgrounds will go far this way...

I was more questioning your comment of "...Newgrounds always getting worse". I don't know how you could make this brash statement having only been here a couple of years. You weren't here for the dark times of hentai ads, pop-ups and code 3 errors so, if anything, NG has gotten much better; which was more my point. If you like a website and enjoy its content, you're usually more than happy to put up with the "quirks".
If you don't like a little image above a submission, that is fine by me; but I don't know how you can say NG is getting worse because of it. Seems like teenage angst to me, dude.

Well, when I made my first comment about it I was awake for ~40 hours. After some sleep I don't even mind that button anymore. I just have to figure out how to change it to 'like' in stead of the dutch variation that doesn't even make sense. :P

You don't need Like buttons to make NG more populair, everyone can submit their favorite submissions on their facebook page.

I overheard Tom mention that there will be like buttons for mods and staff. Like right next to their usernames. Then if that turns out well, we might have it for posts and or users.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH NEWGROUNDS!??!?! We don't freaking need to be tied to Facebook. Sure, this way alot more people will come here and submissions will increase their views, but what about Newgrounds as an independent entity? It's a really popular site on its own, so it doesn't need to have anything to do with Facebook!!! I would have LOVED the Like button, if it were connected to OUR accounts here on Newgrounds, and not to some shitty site like facebook, which many dislike! Newgrounds has always come up with new cool features, and I've almost loved them all, because they're unique, pretty cool, something those other sites don't have, which is everything in ONE - connecting Facebook to Newgrounds has got to be the worst feature ever, which will just decrease Newgrounds' reputation. Soon, Facebook will probably buy Newgrounds or something like that, and it won't be EVERYTHING, BY EVERYONE, but rather EVERYTHING, BY FACEBOOK - if that happens, Imma leavin' this site >:(

But.... it's not? And it won't? Just because you don't like facebook doesn't mean that hundreds of millions of people don't like it and don't use it every day. There is absolutely nothing wrong with linking Newgrounds to social networking sites. It increases traffic and is an easy way to share submissions you like with your friends. Other popular flash gaming websites have been doing this for quite awhile. I don't see why everyone get's their panties in a bunch when NG adds a button somewhere.
This is like when Tom switched the Games and Movies section on the frontpage so that Games were on top. Animators ranted on about how Newgrounds must hate all animators and this'll be the apocalypse. It was just disappointing to see so many people fear and hate a little change.

Man... this is ridiculous. I totally liked Newgrounds before you could, like, like Newgrounds. Like, I feel like this like button will be like the apocalypse.
What's next, you heartless bastards?! Are we gonna start being able to poke each other now!?
