It's more secure because some random person can't just find your name and go to their brower and type in "Plus.google.com/[namehere]" and bring up all of your stuff.
Of course, this doesn't really matter to people who just don't care about their privacy.
Sometimes the best solution is, simply, a swift kick in the ass.

This is exactly what circles are for. If you don't make your information public, no one outside your allowed circles can see it.

Thanks for the invite, Jolly!
Here's my profile. I don't care whether I'm giving out my name or not; it's there in my flash until recently as well.

We have a link to profile -> my link is profiles.google.com/flasheandoweb
When you create the google + account you have to give your profile handler...

Actually, Google changed their privacy settings, you can't have a totally private profile anymore, you have to let your name and (I think) Gender out, but you can't get any more hidden than that... Well, you can for now but after this month, if you currently have the totally private Google+ profile, you will be deleted.

If anyone wants to make their Google+ account URL shorter than it normally is then check out GPlus.to .. very helpful if you're giving away your G+ account to a real life friend, relative, etc.

I sure do, but the problem is with my webcam, it doesn't pick up any noise like there is no microphone in it, but I think the Hangouts allow typing... I've never tried them, I would be interested to do that though!
Yeah, whatever.

Do you have any kind of microphone, or headset with a microphone? Walmart sells cheap mics, most hook up via USB these days.

Only microphone I personally own is a music-studio kind of microphone, pain in the ass to use for something like a hangout. BUT I think I may have an old microphone that sucks kicking around somewhere around the basement here. I can take a look and see if it even works.
Yeah, whatever.

I've got a webcam and mic, but I'd be boring. You don't want me.

I hope that doesn't happen. You can always post links to a song and it will come up on your profile. That is the best way of doing this.
Music players right on the profile become a very big nuisance because usually they play automatically. This is just annoying for others viewing your profile.
Yeah, whatever.

Yeah that was pretty neat, decided to leave a bit early though to work on some new music project I'm doing. Regardless, it was fun. Will definitely go to the next one, hopefully with a microphone :P

Speaking of which when would the next one be? I've got a webcam, but in the current placement of my laptop it'd be kinda awkward to be talking to you guys with my mic haha.
Assuming my computer doesn't want to be a douche and not work... But, that SHOULDN'T be an issue.

I think it could, as long as people aren't mean in it. That would bother me, I mean I wouldn't mind having Stickam users if I made a Hangout, but it really bothers me when they start talking trash about others, especially when they aren't there to defend themselves. Unnecessary drama, just disappoints me.
Yeah, whatever.
