A very valid point and I agree with this.

What really defines being a coward? I think hitting someone you know is smaller and weaker then you is just as "cowardly" as hitting a woman who is attempting to hurt you.

Small man syndrome makes little guys do the dumbest things and they have a tendency to think they are invincible. I normally explain very clearly to male antagonists, regardless of size, my martial experience and what will happen to them if they attempt to assault me, and its only ever happened twice that guys have tried and they both ended up on the wrong side of a serious ass whooping, others have had enough sense to walk away unharmed and unhumiliated. But it seems to be these smaller, weaker men still think they are good enough to take me on, so they kind of deserve it.

Why would the same thing not apply to a woman with a similar mindset? Many women think that they can either get away with hitting a man because "he's not supposed to hit back" or they are so used to guys not hitting them back that they start to think that they can compete with the guys when it comes to fighting.

In all seriousness, I prefer not to hit women. I date girls who know their boundaries and who also know when to deal with other girls who don't know. I was in Wal-Mart with my girlfriend at 2 a.m. just recently and one of her friends made a comment that was way out of line to some random man. Of course, as she's a girl, she expects to skate away with no more than a dirty look, but my girlfriend reached over and slapped her in the face hard enough to leave a purple 5-finger outline for 2 days. If she hadn't done it, I believe I would have.

Women are born with smaller muscle mass then men. But, the size and muscle mass of men can vary as well. Many weak men aren't weak because they are lazy they were just born smaller and with less muscle.

Their muscles can be small, but if they exercised normally they should still be able to lift weights normally. I know some men that exercise their calves daily pulling heavy weights, but their calves are still as thin as a stick. It's all mainly genetics though.
