My god, this game is fucking glorious on Very Hard. I implore you all to do a Very Hard playthrough.

Being someone who is not very good at stealth games, this game is dominating me on normal difficulty.
But I guess I'll give it a try on my next playthrough. It'll probably be violent though.

I think i'm on the fourth mission. It's still incredible, one of my favorite games ever already.

List of things to do:
Complete normal playthrough
Do a non-stealth playthrough where I just run around and wreck everyone's shit
Do a very hard stealth playthrough

Finally got past the part on Kaldwin's bridge where you first see the arc towers. This whole time I never saw the control room below the bridge. But I got to use my first rewiring tool, and it was hilarious.
This game, man...

As soon as Emily said Calista was taking a bath I decided to go keyhole some doors. Then I went downstairs to find Piero doing the same.
Piero knows what's up.

Whaling is a big part of the lore in this game. But the whales look like penises. And there are whale statues at the Boyle party that launch confetti from the head.
I'm not saying that this is game is cockjokes, but this game is cockjokes.

I expect "This game is cockjokes" to be on the cover of the GOTY edition.
I give this game game of the year, all years, because cockjokes.

I...I...I think I love this game. This is probably the best game I've played this year (next to Guild Wars 2 and Journey). The choices even had more impact then Mass Effect 3's.

Best thing I can say about it is that it's kind of like Thief.

On my first playthrough I had high chaos on the last mission and Samuel turned against me.. it sucked having to shoot him in the face.

It's all k. For me, Samuel and his boat got swallowed up a tidal wave. I also got high chaos...guess that's what I get for messing around with powers (freezing time and shooting your crossbow at 6 different enemies is just SO legit).

SPOILER WARNING:
So I just got back from the flooded district. I was so pissed about the 'Your friends were using you the whole time." Cliche. And then I got sent to the flooded district where mutant plants exist, for some reason. And what's especially bad is that I didn't kill the lord high regent, but used that audiotape to expose him. And they STILL thought I killed the empress.
It almost fell apart at that point, but learnign about Daud was fun.

Nah it's really that short.. I took my time through it and I still had it done yesterday. About 6 hours of gameplay to complete.

I started into this reflective globe and Givani's office and I noticed that Corvo had no reflection.
Wait a minute...

Oh.... my... god...

Would you guys say that this game is worth picking up, despite the apparent short length? I don't mind the "quality>quantity" gig too much, but I do prefer if the game has some depth and replayability to it nonetheless. If anything, I'll try getting it when it's cheaper, because a 6 hour game (give or take an hour or two I suppose) for $60 can wait, in my opinion.
Or I'll borrow it from a friend. Either one works.

For that kinda money you can wait, or try to order it online for cheaper. Gameplay is good if u take it easy, rushing this game ain't fun. Very stealth gameplay and if u dig that kinda gameplay, this is your game.

You just rescued Emily? You're almost at the finish line.

This game has a shit ton of possibilities in it. So you could replay it about 4 or 5 times. I'd say yes.

I dunno, you rescue Emily on like the second "major" mission. The Golden Cat. Pretty early on. I don't think that's even half.

Just now beat the game, after Campbell's mission I played through without killing people and reloading when I did. Amazing game, a bit of a confusing ending. Not the ending cinematic, but the actual last part of the last mission.

MAD SPOILERS, YO
READ IF YOU DARE
I HATH WARNED THEE

So I got to Havelock with Martin and Pendleton dead for an unexplained reason while he talked to him, I assume he lost his shit and poisoned or shot them, then I knocked him out, read Havelock's journal that strongly implied Corvo was Emily's dad, opened Emily's door, she goes "Does this mean i'm empress?" or something and boom, level's over, leaving me going "Wat". Dishonored is in my top 5 list of games, but shit, that ending was pretty damn rushed. I was hoping for a fight as amazing as the one with Daud, but I can't really see that happening and still having a way to let Havelock live.

Wuteva though, crazy awesome game.

Have you seen the high chaos fight with Havelock? It's pretty climactic, and doesn't seem as rushed.

the graphics seem really bad for a new game, also the gameplay looks like Vampires mascarade: broodlines

The first time I tried I accidentally fell off the light I was standing on and hit him which is hilarious because i'm imagining Corvo going all that way just to trip and fall onto Havelock like "sup," but anyways after that there was just a short sword fight before I killed him like any normal guard. It didn't occur to me that chaos would influence anything other than the epilogue, though.
