Well... what about it? This image suggests nothing original...

What I mean is this: I am considering creating another one of my Pencilmation episodes but this time instead of branching out with more complex plot lines, color, and dialog, just starting with the qualities that made the first episode likable and focusing on surprises.
...I guess this isn't really something I can expect to instigate discussion in a forum, rather I should just get back to the drawing board, and post to the portal. But if anyone has any notes, please let them be known!

What do you want to do? I'd rather see somebody animating what they want instead of trying to second guess what people want. Most people don't know what they want anyway.
Skip the focus group approach. Just make something you like.

I think I understand what your asking about. If you should revert to your original pencilmation style instead of the one it has evolved to now?
Like Tohoscope said, you should go your own way. But getting a second oppinion is never bad.
I think you should do a mixture between the two. Perhaps have the pen draw stuff for the pencilmation men to play around with. Like, if the pencil was the "man behind the scene" and the pencilmation characters were just put into the situation the pen would give them.
Or, go with a whole new style, pencilmation doesn't have to be halfstickfigures that lol around, it could be like this old thing from the 80ies aswell:

(begins at 00:40). Not saying you should rip that style, but it's an inspiration to do some other kind of pencilmation work.
By the way, good job on Frank's Masterpiece, enjoyed it a lot.
(and I just noticed I called your style of animation pencilmation, I hope that's okay, haha)
