Sex & Nudity in Video Games.

I have no problem with nudity, except when developers put them in to say "Look! Breasts! Look how mature our game is!" pointlessly.

I will admit, that a part of my horny 16 year old self enjoys these scenes, but mostly I feel that scenes such as in Mass Effect have not yet evolved to the stage of those in Movies. While videogames have advanced leaps and bounds, this is still one barrier that has not yet been broken down.

I can't remember who said it, but at the moment sex and nudity in video-games resemble awkward puppets, no emotion or application. One day they will be an acceptable and tasteful part of the gaming medium.

But every time one of these scenes come on your parents will walk into the room and you are either forced to skip the scene you have been waiting on for so long or try to explain that it's a part of the game and you can't change that.

And you can't escape from it, your parents will always walk in at that scene exactly, no matter where you are. Even if they don't live with you, they'll pop in for a surprise visit just at that very time.

That's why I never, EVER play a new game while my mum's home.
I wait till I've completed it at least once to ensure there's no nudity to prevent such scenes.

I'm fucking glad I didn't play L.A. Noire in front of her, damn that would have been embarrassing.
Though the nudity in that was part of the game, and I appreciate that they didn't try to sexualize it.

There are some cases in which nudity is okay though, such as when it's completely hilarious.
Did anyone play Dante's Inferno? Lucifer was just walking around Massive Dong out and I couldn't help but laugh as he walked around not giving a fuck.

I think it completely ruins immersion and shouldn't be in there at all, let alone be a major selling point. Of course to some extent I enjoy it, but overall I'd prefer if it wasn't there.

If it's used in a bit a comedy-ish way with a *wink*, such as in games like Duke Nukem and Conkers Bad Fur Day, than I think it's alright. It adds something to the characters and the game.

But I agree that sex and nudity are better not used just to "make the game more interesting" for the mature gamers.

Personally I don't have much against nudity in video games, seeing as how it's perfectly acceptable to show people's skulls getting obliterated (in detail) in games like Mortal Kombat.

I personally don't have a problem with sex or nudity in video games, as long as it's not the main selling point, {DOA, I'm looking at you} or just thrown in there for no reason other than to get the M rating, so it can get to those horny ass teenagers who would have a better chance on the Internet to find what they want.

God of War is an excellent example on nudity done right, partly because clothes weren't exactly common place for harpies, gorgons or even prostitues back then. And considering that it chocked full of blood, violence and ripped up bodies everywhere to begin with, it's not like the boobs alone would push it from a T to an M rating anyways.

The DOA series on the other hand is about as close to softcore porn in a videogame as you can get IMO. Seriously, we get that Kasumi and the vast majority of the female cast are more or less sluts, Tecmo must think that we're just a bunch of horny 15 year old bastards who are desperate enough to see boobs on a game system, instead of getting it on the Interent.

Anyway nudity no less pointless or mature then that of movies majority of movies don't really build to a sex scene they are just like most games throw's it in there but like many people if i wanted nudity/porn i'd just go online & and hit up one of the billions of sites.

It's best if games have good looking characters, with at least some hot likely not wearing all their winter clothing for both male and female characters in games. This gives the player the 'eye candy' they want in the game and they like playing it more, as let's say an RPG you get to look at the behind of a hot character for 50 hours rather than look at the behind of a average character for 50 hours, it lets them enjoy it more when they might otherwise get bored of looking at the same characters.

For sex scenes themselves? Games dont need them. Infact I am against sex in games as a whole. This isn't due to any high and mighty how dare they show sex thing, but what I love the most is when fans of games who love the characters go ahead and make fan-art / fan-fiction about the characters which include love and sex etc. If you shove that stuff in the game yourself to begin with it takes away the mysterious side that fans love to talk and make work about.

It would just end up making the characters less appealing because they are shown having sex rather than shown with friendships and relationships that may or may not lead to anything. It's these relationships that fans love.

I think it's how video game makers try and hook desperate pathetic teenagers. They'll put a very attractive girl on the front cover of the game, and your main character is a man who has a hundreds of interactions with this girl, so the video game makers will sometimes put some sort of suggestive dialogue in the game trying to tease their players almost. Really they just use it as a way to get lonely desperate kids to play the game because they have the possibility to do it with the hot female character, even if it's not actually shown.

I have nothing against nudity in games, as long as the nudity hasn't been put in "just for the sake of it".

The nude scenes in Heavy Rain are pretty good, for example. The famous "shower scene" might have been done differently, but hey. If you shower, you are naked, right? So, I can't see nothing wrong with that.
The sex scene in Heavy Rain was also pretty good, since you have the choice not to do it. On my first playthrough I had that sex scene and I felt it fitted quite well into the story I had experienced so far.

I believe nudity is acceptable in some cases and also a good idea to put in. Some cases are ancient times in games such as God of War(though showing tit through clothing was in bad taste, the beasts showing human body parts in full nudity is a nice touch), GTA where it's supposed to be "mature" and controversial, or mystery games where there may be a dead body or rape victim in the nude, which is realistic and makes the experience that much better.Other than that, I want people fully clothed.

if the developer finds a way to integrate it in a funny or plot relevant way, then I say go for it, BUT if it is to say "LOOK OUR GAME HAS SEX", then no, I dont want it.
