do you prefer instant respawn or timed respawn, and under what circumstances?
what would you like battlefield 3 to have?

It depends on the game type, and game really. I'f im doing some sort of Deathmatch game mode I prefer an instant respawn so I can instantly get back into the action, it's more fun that way. However, in objective based game modes, like say, Payload on TF2, I would prefer a timed respawn as such game modes, and maps for it were designed around that respawn timer.
Depends if I'm playing death match or not, some games like Counter Strike hell no, Halo go for it.
I actually prefer games that don't have you respawn until the end of the round.
I prefer either no respawn or instant respawn. Having it in between is just bollocks.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 probably has the best respawn timing. It's about 5-7 seconds, which isn't too long to the point where it's long and agonizing, but it also allows for medics to revive if they're close by.
Don't pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.
Team-deathmatch/Free for all, Instant respawn
Objective based game types, Timed Respawn

bad obviously when I die I want to be taken out of the action completely. better take a time out break, I might actually have fun.
Instant Respawn removes some of the advantage of killing enemies on another team in an objective based game. It doesn't really matter if it's just a deathmatch, since you're just scoring points, but if it's some sort of king of the hill or control point style game, having a member of the enemy team out of the game for 10 seconds can give you the time to make a push which you wouldn't have if they respawned immediately.
Depends on the game. If it's a hard-as-nails 2D plaformer like Super Meat Boy or VVVVVV, then yes I do want it. But if a game is ment to put value on your life then no.
It really deppends on what game type/ game it is.
Will you kill someone you love, because of love?
I like no respawn delay and if there absolutely has to be one a small one at that. Really I prefer games with a combination and the ability to tell if a game has instant respawn or a delay.
I don't buy games to watch them(hence why I hate not being able to skip cutscenes) I buy them to play them.
Monster Maps A.K.A. ones that it takes jeeps awhile to get to the other side need instant - 2sec respawn
Medium Maps - 2sec - 4 sec respawn
fps size maps - 4 - 6 sec respawn
Small maps - instant - or choose to have it timed
Instant is only bad if you're being camped or want to change weapons.
I like timed respawn. It's like slapping you in the face for dying. You fucking died, now sit there like a loser for a few seconds.
Nah, instant respawning seems a bit pointless to me, sort of like the enemies are just coming at you thick and fast. There's no way of slowing the enemy down effectively.

Exactly the same respawning system that was in Bad Co 2. Absolutely perfect IMO.

Like everyone else has said, it depends on the game mode. I like not having to wait to respawn, but if it's a game where you watch whoever killed you until you respawn, I kind of like knowing what they're up to and I can maybe go get revenge. And when I'm on the other end of the kill-cam I like being able to pretend I'm going on way and then when enough time has passed for someone to respawn, head in another direction and not have as much resistance.
But generally I like to be able to just keep playing. It's so aggravating when I have to wait like 20 seconds when I die.
I like a 5 to 7 second respawn timer. anything much longer can be rather annoying unless it's some sort of objective game where I can see a longer timer being reasonable. In a capture the flag type of thing it'd take forever to get back to your base when every time you kill someone they're right on your ass in no time at all
It great because because if you have to wait every time you die it get really annoy when you die compared to instant it like okay.

Bad company 2 felt like it took forever, ive always liked Halo 3's respawn system.

I think timed respawns are more fair, but it's aggravating to have to wait twenty seconds or whatever if you just missed it.
It depends on the type of game. CTF gametypes, for example, would do good with a timer, but a fast paced DM game would benefit from instant respawn.
Instant respawn or up to 5 seconds max preferably. Having to wait for 15-20 seconds every time gets really lame, especially if there's some dude ambushing people at / near the spawn point and you quickly get killed again. Also, I think I already do enough waiting in between matches when games and maps have to load etc. I do like to actually play the game and not watch waiting screens half of the time.

Instant respawn for me is a bit iffy. While I would like the ability to respawn on the spot, some time off to gather yourself would be good.

I like,... Well just plain spawning, DUH!... but yeah, i like spawn timing on certain styles of gameplay, yeah timed on objective, and instant on any-kind of death-match... and that means you to hardcore team death-match. yeah waiting's a bitch.
Yeah Instant is awesome! >3<

I think that a very small timer is best, 5 seconds would probably be ideal. A long respawn like 30 seconds just gets annoying but 5 seconds just gives you enough time to go "aww damn he killed me the git" then you get back into the action. I like the idea of that small amount of time just to be shown you were killed but not having it last a humiliatingly long time.
