It's already happening. People often do not understand the concept of overpopulation. Even if they do, many choose to ignore it or believe themselves to be above it. The population will rise and the higher number of humans will lead to new feats of engineering, science, art, literature, and other human triumphs. Due to sheer population size, the number of outstanding individuals will increase.
Humanity will reach a point, possibly in the near future, where things will start to degrade. Then the population problem will be solved by the natural system known as carrying capacity.
