3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsNew users are generally pretty easy to spot by their posts 'How do I make a Newgrounds?', 'How do I level up?', 'Who is this Tom Fulp guy?' and so on. However, some manage to act as though they've been here for a while.
So, that brings me to my question: If we didn't have sign-up dates, levels, or post counts by our posts on the forums, would we still be able to recognize new users?
Well, not all new users are like that, some of them read the rules and the frequently asked questions, before they start to post.
Without truth, there is no justice.

Yes, it depends on how they post aside from their sign up date.
Some can be hard to tell, causing you to assume that they're alts either evading a ban or lost their password.

Yes because I wouldn't recognize their usernames, I think I've been around enough to spot every user who posts frequently.
Yeah, whatever.

What about users who lurk and don't post often?

Probably so, they would be the ones making threads saying that they are new here or making ones saying "wow i like the newgrunds". They would also tend to have bad grammar because they wouldn't know that unlike most forums we like for our users to type properly.
For I am and forever shall be... a master ruseman.
I'd probably just not recognize the username and say "hey that guy must be new"
Can you feel it mister Krabs?
we would need to have signatures, and signature text and then yes
cheatin the question

I have a question: Can you see that I am a relatively new user ( half a year is not much)?

You would be able to spot them due to their not being quite as fucked up as the regular user base.
Give my thoughts form and make them look insightful.

Beyond popular belief, you don't need to be a regular here to have good grammar

People would probably think I was new since I don't post much.

Oh, yeah. New users are pretty clueless, and many end up pissing the veterans off with stupid questions.
And forgive me for the double post, but as you can see by my post count...
I'm very new.

Hai there yoo guyz, i'm neW hear!
Yes. Generally, new users are younger, and as such, are
-Completely against all drugs with no research to back their ludicrous claims
-Have horrible spelling/grammar
-Try too hard to be funny/random
-Will suck Egoraptor's dick
-Post mainly in the video game forums
Too many emoticons.

I win.
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

I've been here more than Asandir?
On my 09 account, YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT IT STOP ASKING ME!!!
Well, yes, simply because if you keep track of who posts and who does not, then its pretty easy to see that someone new is posting. In which case, the response is usually something along the lines of "Hey, who's the new guy?" as compared to "Who's this fucktard?" impressions I'm getting from new users who are new in all senses of the word.
But yeah, some users slip right in with the user base. Others cause a bit of a stir.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of users that come by this BBS every week... it'd be a shitty task to remember them all.
However, I DO notice new users generally, or at least spot them within the first 100 posts.
Anyway, yay for new users :D
