And by Nirvana, I mean somebody that will just shake up the mainstream scene right now. Like when Nirvana came out, everyone in the industry stopped what they were doing and focused their attention to Nirvana. I have nothing against artists like Drake, Lil' Wayne, Nicki, Wiz, etc. because they can continue doing their thing even if I don't really fancy their style or music, but I feel that mainstream hip hop can do much better.
Kanye probably has come closer than anyone else because he has the image and persona that could shake up all of music and he's certainly talented but he's missing the flair Nirvana has. I really like what J. Cole is doing but he had some bad management and is far from reaching that mainstream level. I think within 5 years there's going to be a rapper that will be the total package: internet savvy, lyrical genius, and has mainstream appeal. We have to wait a while for one though because at the moment popular rap/hip-hop is all about image and not music, and at the moment it doesn't look like it's changing.

RAP doesn't need another coming of Nirvana. Music in general needs something to tell all the awful pop music to fuck off.

There's enough rap clogging up the main stream as it is, we don't need somebody making it more popular, thus forcing more stolen content than ever before onto youtube.
Seriously, who even reads these things anymore?

You are probably right, but I don't know any artist that could take this role.
Without truth, there is no justice.

Which is too bad since R&B died and became urban hip-hop.
And too many rappers work closely with, and team up with so called "R&B artists".

Well, there's this guy, Tech N9ne, he's been hating the industry ever since he started rapping. He's nothing like the mainstream rappers. He says he will never go mainstream, mainstream is gonna get to him. And well he's a lyrical genius, he's getting more known and shit. You guys could check him out, if mainstream actually gets to him, he will definitely change the industry.
