In the event of a zombie apocalypse - which hand-held weapon would you find most suitable for your extended survival?

inb4 "my cock", or "cake" or fucking "tanks"

For me it would have to be a big-ass axe. Everyone knows a zombie is useless without its head.. i'd just cleave people in two, or chop their heads off mass-execution style.

And of course I know they swarm so id have to have some body protection - neck armor at least - those fuckers always wanna tear a piece of flesh off around there.

I would use either of these. Would also probably carry around a couple of magnums and handguns so I can take out zombies from a range before they start after me.

I wouldn't need one. I'd run around scavenging for food. I wouldn't hit a zombie unless it hit me, in that case I would probably use my fists or any weapon nearby that I could grab, or object. I'd simply just hide out all the time and do everything that I can to survive while watching the world end.

I think some kind of really powerful hand gun would be the obvious choice like a .500 Smith and Wesson. But, if you want to do it with some style then... I'd probably choose a Katana because they look awesome and can be sharp as Hell. I would also get a sharpening stone or one of those grinding wheels and just sit there sharpening it all day for hours while keeping an eye on my house's doors and windows for invading zombie rat bastards.
