I'm not here to start a heated debate. I'm just here to point out some facts.
1) Anime vs. American: Here's the deal. Anime is an amazing style, I must admit. But it falls short of the unique and VAST ways of making American style cartoons, comics, etc. In Anime, their eyes look the same ALMOST all the time. Look at The Looney Toons and compared every American made cartoon and see if any of them look the same. They don't.
2) You're not from Japan. Quit acting like you are: A bunch of Otaku/weeabus think that Anime is so much superior because it focusses around culture... um, newsflash, so do American cartoons. The Anime freaks always talk about their love for Japan when they clearly are not from there. I've been to Japan and it is boring as HELL! The people are rude and perverted. I saw a woman getting groped on a subway train. They believe they know SO much about Japan when they haven't even been there. If you go over there with that mindset that what happens in anime happens in Japan, you WILL be shunned.
3) Support America: I love this country. I originally came from Canada with my parents and I love it here. My favorite animator happens to be John Kricfalusi, a Canadian animator, creator of Ren and Stimpy. I find that if you love Anime so much, quit bashing people who don't like it (Same with those who bash people who DO like it, shame on both of you).
Now, this isn't a "Hate on anime" post. It's my opinion, but the thing is that with anime, most of the time when people are talking they keep all frames paused and just animate the mouth, giving no emotion to the person's body language. A little bit of Anime goes a long way for me. But "To each their own."
I do, however, have to say that I never get tired of Keroro Gunso of Fooly Cooly. I just wish I didn't have to look at people embarrase themselves trying to be Japanese when they clearly aren't...
