I thought Skyloft was small as soon as I had access to the bazaar. I still really like the idea of a more centrak hub area that you can fool around in, as opposed to having to run across Hyrule constantly like in Twilight Princess.

I really like the godess cubes as well. A nice little sidequest.

SPOILERS: I just found the demon who lives under Skyloft. My new favourite character.

I just thought you guys might like this little story...

I work at Best Buy part time and today I had a elderly lady come in asking for the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword bundle. Naturally one would assume it is for her grandson or maybe even her son who is an old school Nintendo fan from back in the day. She proceeds to tell me that it is for her and she has been playing the game since the original Nintendo days. I was a bit thrown back by this as she started to talk about the older Zeldas to me.

I personally have never been into the Zelda games because they just don't do it for me, but I have always have had such a deep respect for the series. When you think about it very few video games are 25 years old and still relevant. Close to none actually.

Well anyway, enjoy your games guys. Don't feel bad if in 25 years you guys are picking up the 50th anniversary of Zelda game and are talking to youngins about how you have been a fan of Zelda for a long time and age is just a number.

God. I'll be 40 then.

I do hope the videogame business stays fresh or atleast doesn't get oversaturated. I like all videogame developers who have an attention to detail, a sense of what the consumer wants, the skill to learn from their mistakes, and the skill to keep what's good, but I love Nintendo because they're just about the only company i know who will take a series in the opposite direction and you are almost 100% guaranteed to like it.

I'm a retro gamer and I really do believe that age is just a number. Aside from that I doubt this will happen as games are having bigger lasting appeals on gamers now adays the farther we grow into the new generations of gaming. But yes, perhaps nowadays the older Zelda's may seem short and simple to many although I still find them out to be pure gems.

I have a similar story to that actually, I went to a huge and very busy flea market last summer I think it was and there were some very neat and impressive video gaming collections. But one really caught my eye. A man in his apparent late 40's had this massive collection having at least 2 thirds of the entire NES library, about half the N64 and SNES library, owning a limited edition of nearly every single PS2 game he had there and had the box covers for almost all his Atari 2600 games. This man had kept them in excellent condition and clearly played them often as he stated to me "I'm selling one of my Gamecube's and I'm thinking of putting up one of my Super Nintendo's for sale." I completely dropped my jaw and said "ONE of your Super Nintendo's?!?!?" This guy really appeared to enjoy the games and had many Zelda games in really nice edition covers to.

Anyways back on topic, it's taking me countless hours but I've nearly completed the game.

There are so few video games that lasted for more than 20 years. People are hooked up to Call of Duty but I am still sticking to the venerable, 25-year-plus series. Mario is over 25 years old, Zelda is 25 this year, and believe it or not, Metroid celebrates its 25th year.

But all in all, a whopping 8.8 out of 10 for Skyward Sword!

I still like Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven!

Oh I see, well I also didn't really find myself to be that fond of the motion controls, like keeping the same sort of styled setting and everything within the game yet switching up the controls a lot to keep it from feeling like past Zelda games. It's like the same linear progression.

But for the most part I totally adore this game and embarassing to say, I still haven't fully completed it but I've found lots of mini-games to adore.

Well, the main story is pretty long. I think it's somewhere a little over 40 hours for the main story.

Hey all, I'm stuck in the temple, can someone help me?

I'm in the temple, and I have no idea how to open the gate where the two eyes are and there's a chest. I was able to kill the one eye before by rolling it, but not the two at once.

Stand in the middle of them? And if it's actually the one with 3, move a box from the back of the room in the middle of them then stand on it and do it again.

I completed the game and accidentally clicked Hero Mode, now I'm on Hero Mode and I can't be bothered, playing Skyrim.

Sad game. Reminds me how great it could've been if they wouldn't have been so stupid to use the motion+.
Sure, it works but... Traditional controls just work better. So sick of Nintendo's stupid gimmicks. The combat in this game is frustrating as hell, most enemies require you to tilt the sword exactly right, but the motion+ won't detect it correctly 9/10 times.

It's a good game, but could've been great.

This was a dumb room. There is a white space that looks like the scenery, but you actually have to back up until you're standing on it for both eyes to look at you.

Other than that, I'm actually quite pleased with this game's puzzles. I've gotten stuck at least once per temple so far, but it's only through intuition and making use of all my resources that I find the answer. This is definitely not a baby's zelda game.

Yeah, it turns out what happened was I wasn't standing on the white space. I should have guessed it was something that easy.

I was in the room with the three eyes and the Skulltula dropped down and scared the crap out of me. XD

I've only SPOILERS done three temples so far, but Lanyru mining facility had an awesome gimmick.

I mean past Zelda games have dabbled in temples that use past and present periods to make puzzles, but this dungeon is simply awesome.

Also, the gust bellows are badass.

Redeads are back in the Ancient Cistern. They don't scream at you in this one, but still hump you, come in large groups, and take a lot of punishment to kill if you don't use a fatal blow on them.

Finished the game yesterday...

MAN, that was a long game to finish, took me about 24 hours, minus quite a lot of the side-quests but enough to make it through the last bit.

Amazing game though, one of the best Zeldas yet! Does it beat OoT? Nostalgia says no, in other terms possibly...

Definitely a pick-up for any Wii or Zelda fans.

If anyone has any problems with a few of the dungeons give me a holler here, I can grant a good hint hopefully not spoiling anything, if I can spoil anything, it would be that the creativity in this game hits its peak at the final dungeon, you will understand :)

Lanayru mining facility is my favourite dungeon up until Ancient Cistern. It is probably in my top 3 Zelda dungeons list, even though the boss was pretty dull.

Ancient Cistenr had a pretty awesome boss though, and I finally got the clawshots!

'Traditional controls'? I agree with you on the part of Twilight Princess, but Wii MotionPlus is ANYTHING but a gimmick. And as for your frustrations, I think you're doing it wrong. 98% of critics and reviewers said the controls were fantastic. Maybe you need to stop flailing your arms around and start making careful, controlled movements.

I was actually sad about how easy the Mining Facility's boss was, Ancient Cistern was great though and the boss in there I agree was superb.

If you liked the mining facility gimmick you can *minor hint* expect it soon once more *end minor hint*!

I'm back in Lanayru at the Pirate hideout. I really really really love the idea of the Sand Ocean. This game has some really creative parts to it.

Man this whole real life thing is really bumming me out. If I didn't have so many things to pay for I'd have the game already. Gas and other car payments, rent, cell phone, food, plus rent and other expenses on my barber shop... shiiiiiat hopefully I'll get it for Christmas.

Responsibility is certainly a two sided road.

I just completed the game after 45 hours of gameplay! I can now confirm that this is the very best Legend of Zelda that exist to this date! The ending was amazing and it gives you so many answers! There are suddenly many things that makes sense!

and the split-timeline theory... FUCK IT! Shit just got real! These games are linear somehow!!!

I'm surprised no one has run in this GAME BREAKING GLITCH yet.

Apparently the glitch happens in the very latre parts of the game, if you do a segment before two other segments.

The link has spoilers, but to avoid restarting 35+ hours of gameplay, I advise you to read it.
