I'll go if theres nothing else I'm doing that day. Always up for being raped by strange people I meet over the internet.

:Being a minor won't help with the boozing though.

Wow; these things really aren't planned with the simple fact that people might actually have plans on a holiday weekend, even though the thought of a day in NYC would be great.

Oh wait; I don't these things are really planned to begin with.

I just checked the maps. And nan, NY is so close I could taste it!

Too bad mah plane leaves tomorrow morning, otherwise I'd certainly go to the meet.

I won't lecture about planning this meet any further.

Well, guys. 3 or 4 days until this meet up of some sorts. If you are still going, pm me or DannyJay. we'll make a schedule or a list of "priority" places to go to.

If you have money, i suggest bringing that.
Cigarettes too. I need my nicotine addiction fed.

If you need directions or want to meet someplace else, tell us.

Paypal me cash, and I can get you cigs on the cheap and mail them to you. S'like 5 dollars a pack for an expensive brand down here.

Okay, so The meet is 32 hours away. RetributionVox suggested we go to the lower east side half the day and the other half around times square. I think if we go to Times Square, we should take a group picture with the Naked Cowboy. (potential better idea: we all pull our pants down for the picture so we're in our underwear with the cowboy. Note: wear underwear that Sunday)

Hahaha, like I really would. I spent $20 on the Video Falconry shirt before I bought the CD, you know.

Consider me unlikely at this point. My parents aren't too happy with me right now.

Um...stay away from Times Square for sure. The LES has plenty of okay places though.

I should probably put together some sort of itinerary soon based on the average age of everyone coming. I just hope everyone is up for a little bit of traveling, as I'm considering potential places in Roosevelt Island, upper Manhattan (up to Morningside Heights or so), and certain parts of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

The city is practically a ghost town this weekend. everyone's in the Hamptons. Times Square is fine.

That claim is absolutely false. Unless you want horrible amateur rappers trying to physically force you to buy their god awful CDs, people stopping you to ask stupid questions like, "Would you like to see a comedy show tonight?" tour bus companies begging you for business, or people soliciting money from you at almost every turn, then just stay away from Times Square. I'm a local, and this is what I've been dealing with for years.

I don't mind people asking me if i want a bus tour or if I want to buy their CD, because i can keep walking or just say no and keep walking, and you're exaggerating about people soliciting money from you at almost every turn. In times square, i've been asked once or twice to spare some change, if at all. I'm sure I haven't been there nearly as many times as you have, but I've been there at least 30 times and I've had no problems.

I often get asked for money at least once every time in the area, and it only gets worse over time, not better. Some of the amateur rap artists I'm talking about are so aggressive that they'll persistently wave their CDs in front of your face for a while even if you don't say a word the entire time and pretend they don't exist. That really exasperates me, and any reasonable person would also feel the same way. So...yeah, I try to avoid Times Square intentionally unless I'm going to a gig at BB King's (horrible club, BTW, but I can't help it that some good bands do occasionally play there).

We're not tourists and definitely should not be mingling alongside them. Times Square is generally a tourist playground and we're all above that. For a meet like this, I would find it far more appropriate to spend time getting happy hour drinks, going to a number of parks, possibly Roosevelt Island or any of the beach neighborhoods in SI, Queens and Brooklyn even if no one wants to swim.
