Seeing as it's Father's Day, we should talk about dads in gaming.

So, basically, the question is simple: Which dads from video games do you think are memorable and why? They can be good or bad fathers, too.

Bowser from the Super Mario Bros. games was a pretty good dad. He gave each of his kids their own castles and henchmen in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World!

That may be so, but when Claus (Lucas's twin brother) goes missing Flint (their dad) searches the mountains for him everyday for 5 years. Now that's a great father.

I am SO with you! Although remember in the ending of NSMBWii, he had all of his kids try to carry him and then accidently squished them.

Big Boss from the Metal Gear Solid games was also a memorable video game dad. On one hand, he taught his sons how to be great soldiers, but on the other hand, he tried to kill one of them several times. Though at the end of Metal Gear Solid 4, he comes in and shows how awesome of a guy he can really be to his kin.

Far Cry because they made an FPS with great graphics and gameplay and it was a fun world to explore.

The main characters dad in Fallout 3. He was annoying, self-centered and had a very high opinion of himself, I couldn't wait to get a chance to kill him.

Trips dad in enslaved odyssey to the west. He had so much faith in that she would return alive from a slave ship that he left a message for her in the war room designed to play after his death. He has so much confidence in her survival skills and resourcefulness and I AM the doing all the work!

Is it just me or did Donkey Kong seem like he would be a cool dad? I always envied how Donkey Kong Jr. got to say that he dad was a tennis playing ape who occasionally beats the shit out of plumbers and crocodiles.
