Just wondering, how did you make this to begin with? I'm guessing lots of texturing, cutting out and afterwards go over it with a black brush. Am I correct?
A rather disgusting-looking git that should have been disposed of ages ago.
I traced a drawing I did then added colours and pretty much what you said. This is actually the first time Iv used illustrator and combined it with photoshop, look pretty bad doesn't it now?

Generally studying anatomy would be nice. His proportsion currently are quite awkward, with the huge eyes, hand that rival the Heavy's in size, and muscles that make every culturist weep for their failures. In fact, while making this "badass", you seem to have gone the route of thinking - bigger is better. Not necessarily.
which makes his small hips all the more comical.
Also, leaning back while firing something is not the wisest idea, especially if one is holding a firearm of such calibre.
PS.PS- the "Bang"s are quite distracting.

haha very true but I wanted it to be over the top and ridiculous :D
Are there techniques that would help me with shading and lighting I could use in illustrator?

Illustrator is meant for vector image creation. Vector images are images that are stored using mathematical coordinates. This allows them to be resized without a loss of quality. It's wonderful for designing logos that have to be printed on street spanning banners and company letterheads. There are other applications for it. It can be a very powerful illustration tool. But I'd recommend staying away from it for what you're doing. Unless you know why you're using it you probably shouldn't be using it. Stick to photoshop.

Well there's your main problem right there.
While not that bad, the awkward proportions, incredibly tiny hips, and fairly random coloring and shading make it generally unappealing to the eye.
And lastly, where the sleeves have been ripped off and the belt both look really weird. The fabric at a clothing tear doesn't jet straight out in any direction and stiffen, it just sort of hangs loose. I'm guessing that the belt is supposed to be torn fabric wrapped around his waist, but it looks sort of funky because it looks more like fire than cloth. It might just be the color.
Keep working at it, dude.
You look nice today.
This guy brutally sodomizes me.
Cereal is pretty cool. If you're cool you'll add me on Steam. Also, Letterboxd.
I am not in any way an expert on anatomy, but I do have a small amount of firearm related knowledge. You fell for quite a few common gun errors in the (first) drawing. First off, DAT THUMB. If he fires another shot it will be a broken, bloody mess. This is because that wonderful slide thingy on top will slide back violently when the handgun is fired. This is how handguns cycle to eject the brass (cartridge casing) and feed the next round from the magazine (note, magazines are not clips). A small artistic license may be issued if he is returning the hammer to a non-cocked position, but that brings up a second issue.
His index/trigger finger is HUGE, as well as still on the trigger. Even pikachu knows trigger control (see here for pikachu with a gun demonstrating trigger control).
Lastly, you fell for the "all guns are flat" trope of flash and drawings in general. Just because every traceable gun ref. known to man is from the side, doesn't mean that every pose possible for someone with a gun has the gun perfectly parallel to the camera/viewer. Please note that in the image that the camera was above the level of pikachu's gun, so some of the top can be seen. By looking at images of guns at different angles you can get a "feel" for the gun's shape and learn to draw them more realistically (at different angles). This takes time and practice, but if you are going to draw a bunch of guns it is necessary.
Sorry for ranting at you like that, but all of these gun related issues plague a lot of artists so this is meant to be helpful to others as well.
thanks for all the advice I will work on it some more.
I found this tutorial and I like the art style although I have no idea on where to get the first brush marked "212" from.

Here is the link
Don't worry about the brush. The author specifically said that he or she was only using it because it is his or her favorite, and there's an even chance that the author was the one who made the brush in the first place. You can do what was in the demonstration just as well with a run-of-the-mill round brush.
.
Don't make Street Fighter knock-off characters. Use less ugly colors. Better picture composition and more defined shape. Stuff like that.
