I've always taken it as, if the results are announced before all the games are front-paged, it might ruin the competitive atmosphere. Where everyone awaits their games being front-paged, seeing the comments, perhaps hoping to win, etc.. Or something like that. Just that it would make more sense to announce the results at the end.

Only a selection of the jam games gets frontpaged.

As far as I know, they all do. At least that's what happened in the last 2 jams, and that's what seems to be happening here too.

I wouldn't have wanted that thing frontpaged anyway, because it would have led to a firestorm of bad reviews and 'OMG why is this on the frontpage?!' remarks. Of course, the game was never actually finished...

For some unknown reason my team's game got frontpaged... and it really, really shouldn't have.
