Okay now I'm wondering... 2011-06-16 20:05:02 Reply

I am completely aware that it's against the rules to ask to be scouted, so I'm not going to do that.
But I was wondering two things.

1) How long does it usually take to get scouted?
2) Have I done anything wrong in the submission process that is preventing me from being scouted?

I've had 4 finished pieces submitted since December. 7 months is a long time to wait to get scouted...

It's a myriad of factors that can keep you from being scouted:
1. You could probably not be very active in any way on Newgrounds, in the way of reviewing art or flashes or music or on the forums so people might not see your art.
2. Someone or most of the people who sift through the scoutee section do not find your art good enough, which is subjective.
3. Newer scoutees are just seen faster so they are scouted first.
4. A combination of these factors or other factors.

I'd say be more active, you do seem to review a bit, maybe a bit more would help. Maybe an art thread here will help you improve as an artist and increase your chances of being scouted and lastly just be patient.

My guess, when you submit an image to the portal you have the option to submit it as a sketch or a finished piece. If you submit it as a sketch it is not visible in the portal and does not count as one of the four pieces of art required for you to be scouted. As far as i understand, anyways...

For a while now, the unscouted section has had a glitch where you can't go to people's art pages through the unscouted section itself. It just loads infinitely. Making it really hard for people who aren't as active with the community to get scouted.

Basically, by saying you won't do it.... you kinda asked.

But anyways, my advice would be: Delete some pieces that could people scare off from taking the responsibility for everything you submitted and will submit. I don't want to sound snobbish or anything so please don't get me wrong, but some of your pieces are cool and some are definitely not scout-worthy.

At least that's my guess, why you are not scouted.
