What will make a person want something more?;
Not getting something at all or getting it in small amounts once a while?

Getting small amounts sometimes. They'll really like it (i assume) and then say "Oh I want more!" and then ask for more of it.

Can you feel it mister Krabs?

Depends on the "something". If we talk about drugs for example, giving it in small amounts would make a person want it more.

If the thing is uninteresting then not getting it at all would make me want it more since I don't know if its any good or not.

That's exactly what I've been thinking about, although it really depends on the "something" like Asandir said.

Good point, although I forgot to mention that the something is nothing addicting - as in doesn't include any addicting materials like Nicotine.

Is it curiosity? If so, it makes sense.

If the thing is uninteresting and I get to try it for a bit I would have come to the conclusion that the thing is uninteresting and not give a shit about it. Where as*

Some would say, greed and jealousy. Some would say, pride and dedication. Depends one the nature of the person involved.

Not getting something at all or getting it in small amounts once a while?

Depends on what you are, or are not, getting. Too many if's. Knowing what it is that you are missing out on would help. And how do you get small amounts of nothing?

To see if it's useful in any way? Alright.

I am asking this question in general - sure it is hard to answer this question without any further information but the problem is that there is no additional information so I am challenging you guys to answer something you know almost nothing about, and while on it I am challenging my own self.

Oh and I didn't mean small amounts of nothing, I meant small amounts of something.

Doesn´t answer the question at all, since we talk about soemthing that you can actually give to a person, so I would like to see how you give greed to someone, you can only awake greed, and if this is what you means, then you should have stated so.

Getting something in small amounts will make you want it more, getting nothing will make you eventually forget about whatever it is.

I believe this is correct, but there are few people that never forget things that they are interested in.
This is what I think, at least.

People, in general, have unlimited "wants". Alot of people want instant satisfaction, rather than it being gradual. At least, that is how I see that people want all of something rather than get it gradually.

Getting small amounts. They can't forget about it then.

Do you really think so? It's like not getting any of it at all - you eventually forget about it, but like I said in my previous post, there are few people that will keep wanting it.

Is getting it in load amounts an option? Because that is the true answer.

Greed comes from people who have a lot of something and want more of it.

If you have little or none of that thing you're more content without it.

It depends.

I guess the second one, but it has to be dosed properly, so the person thinks this something is good, and they want all of it.

I personally think that people want to get better things everyday. Leading to more selfishness in the person.

Haven't thought of that, but it's completely true.

Well, if it's a game or something, I'd say getting none. That's if it's publicized in the right way, and hype is created about it. Of course, that means its more likely when you get it you'll be dissapointed
