There are a few issues I would like to address as I feel they are on going problems. I didn't really want to make a front page post about it, but I don't think the message is going to get out from my comments in our forums.
Most of the time they are not going to be noticed in the Forums, especially if you only make a few posts about in the General Section. It's better that you posted a News Post, so that everyone is going to see it. I would never have noticed this if it wasn't a News Post.
If you MUST request me to remove your entries please rename them in the format "deleteXX01", "deleteXX02" with XX being a combination of your username. Like I could put "deletewf01", and this would ensure a unique title name. Be sure to include your USERNAME when you email me!
Well, you learn something new everyday. I'm actually not that ashamed of my Portal Entries, even though they didn't get good scores at all. But I still worked hard on them. I will keep this in mind just in case though. I'm going to have to assume that you would like them renamed in that Format to make them easier to find on the Portal Search....
If you put together some porn slide show, submitted something that wasn't your work, then it should be flagged and you should NOT email me about it. You should wait until we have time to review it, and remove it from the site. Users who have two entries flagged will no longer be able to submit content to the Portal until they have been cleared out. So do not submit something that might get flagged if you don't want to be temporarily banned.
Heh, you would think that this would be common sense, but I guess not. It must be a lot of work reviewing all of those flagged entries, seeing as how there are so many of them daily. If most of the users would just read the rules concerning the Portal FAQ, then they wouldn't have this problem and wouldn't have to bug you with their endless problems and complaining.
Also many users have been submitting public Flash demo games. We don't need a hundred versions of Pac Man, Asteroids, Snake, Tetris, etc. with different colors and music. While these public .FLA files are great learning tools, we don't need the exported .SWF files on our site unless you've made MAJOR changes to it. These entries will almost always get flagged, and if they do, do NOT email me about it!
That is something I didn't know, although I have suspected it for a while. I have seen many versions of these Tetris games, Snake, and just about every other public game that has been made for Atari. Your right about not needing 50+ versions of the game when all that was done was the edit of a few pics. Now that I know these can be flagged as well, I will be sure to hit them if I see them.
Other than that we are preparing to get some new hardware that will improve the site's performance. Watch for updates from Tom about that. Also did you notice I didn't mention anything about NG TANK LOGO STICKERS? :P
Lol, again with the stickers....I will have to order some of those as soon as I get some more cash on hand, which should be this weekend if all goes well. Seeing as people have been questioning why you are getting new hardware to increase the efficiency of the site, I have to say something to that. Why not? There is nothing wrong with increasing site speed and feedback, is there? It only makes it better for the members of Newgrounds.
