4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsLet's get started with something recent. This was done this month. Medium was a #2 pencil and colored pencil on card stock.
JA is my initials for Justin Anderson.
Medium is MS-Paint. It's inspired by the program itself the idea kinda just came to me.
Previous is a baby panda, I forgot to mention.
Medium is MS-Paint, I originally wanted to make a stencil like effect similar to the OBEY posters. I got like one eye done and decided to repeat it.
Medium: #2 Pencil. I drew this when I was 18 years old and incarcerated, the drawing is 3 years old.
Medium: #2 Pencil. Same story as the previous one, I screwed the drawing up so I never went further with it.

is that micheal jackson? quite good actually.
Medium: Black ballpoint pen, notebook paper. I was 16-17 at the time of this because I remember drawing it in class.
Last two were on regular computer paper.
Medium: #2 Pencil and Computer paper. I drew this when I was 18 just outta high school, but before I got incarcerated. It's supposed to be exhaling a bunch of smoke, but I fucked up and put hard outlines around the smoke.
Medium: #2 Pencil and Computer Paper. Another old drawing, this one is just an eye. I drew it during school I'm sure. I used to draw or write for like 90% of my school day.
Medium: Photoshop. The idea was reverse products; something doing opposite of it's intended use. This is probably dated around early '10 or late '09.
Medium: Photoshop. Same project as last one, but this time it's packaged. It's soap in case you can't tell. It's soap that gets you dirty.
Medium: Photoshop. Just a collection of sig's I made around '09/early '10.
Medium: Photoshop. I made this earlier this year, personally not a fan of this piece.
Medium: Photoshop. Made earlier this year also, again not a fan.
Medium: Colored pencils and cardstock. The focus is the bird in the middle the other things is like nothing but garbage and can be ignored. I drew this, the end of '10 or early '11. It's like a rooster/finger puppet mix I guess. This drawing just sorta happened with no planning. I'm sharing everything, good and bad.
Last image of the airplane got totally ruined from the upload.
Medium: Flash. I wanted to recreate Tricky the Clown, seemingly obscure in today's internet world, but when I was new here Tricky was hot shit. I added my own spin and flipped his Dick upside down. Shit's tricky, son.
Medium: Photoshop. Made like 2-3 years ago, it was meant to be a very simplistic background image for my PC.
Tricky the Clown image in last post is also dated 2-3 years ago.
Medium: MS-Paint. As you can tell I like using the colors light-blue and orange. So I kinda just made a face quick in MS-Paint one day when I was bored, earlier this year.
Medium: MS-Paint, earlier this year I just made a quick rose because I was thinking along the lines of April showers bring May flowers.
Medium: Flash, this is 1-2 years old. It was a concept entry for a DIY Teddy Bear Munny competition on this site. I didn't get the opportunity to create my design, but I still share this with you.
Medium: Photoshop, I made this last night. It's an entry into this years DIY Android Figurine competition this site for Robot Day. This is my concept art, the idea is a nature meets machine/go green statement. I plan to make it a 3d model and less painted, the rose(just the flower part) and the base(figure's body(the rusted metal look)) will probably be the only things painted the rest I want to make with real items. All of this is granted I win one to make it with, I actually have all the items I need to make my idea complete too. I want to use real rose thorns on the vine like wiring coming off the rose, but I personally don't know if that'll be safe if I'm like shipping it back to NG. I guess I'll like write a warning or something if I incorporate them. Cross your fingers, guys. I think it has huge potential to get some serious notice in the competition if I get the chance to make it.
I do also want to incorporate a real glow, by inserting a tiny lightbulb on its own battery activated by a switch into the bottom of the figure, I'd carve just enough around the rose(where it's glowing in the concept) so that the light shines through it, but I'd paint the carved out area a really light pink so it's like emitting a pink aura of light around the rose, hence the idea of it being plugged into his back.
The eyes would be real screws, rusted. I'd really like to not have to use paint to do the rusted metal body, but at the moment I'm not thinking of many other feasible options to achieve the effect, depending on if I have rivets small enough and it looks good, I might incorporate real rivets. I'd like to keep it less painted as possible and more realistic.
The leaf/stem on his head, I'd like to incoporate maybe a plastic leaf I'd attach, the attenna might have to be painted to achieve the wooden stem effect(but this one is okay).
I'm still trying to plot on someway to make a rose that I don't have to just paint on so I can make it even more 3d(even though my current idea is pretty badass in my own head)
I plan on using a real single outlet with a real plugin, cutting little holes just under the painted rose so the wires can slide into the figure and look like they're connecting to the rose.
I just typed way more than I planned too, but I'm super pumped about this contest and I think I have the potential to bring the whole thing home with my idea, granted if I get the Android figurine(cross fingers).
I forgot to mention that my 2nd and 3rd images were made this year.
Medium: MS-Paint, created this year. I spent like 5 minutes and whipped up a face in MS-Paint quick, just a drawing exercise.
Medium: MS-Paint, this one is kinda stupid. It's like a self-portrait if I was an emoticon. I also have hazel eyes, not blue. Made this year.
Medium: #2 Pencil and computer paper. I know I said I'd share the good and the bad, but this one is like super terrible I didn't even want to bother. It's very old and it was very, very rushed, supposed to be a self-portrait. I'll have to re-do this one because I'd like to have a good version myself anyway.
Don't even look at it, hahaha. Anyway, comments on the other works?
Your variation is quality is confounding to say the least. What I can say is that for now STAY THE FRICK AWAY FROM MS PAINT. Your pencil drawings could have real potential if you spent a bit more time on them. Study facial features and proportions etc *insert generic draw from life/posematics speech here* and you can improve with those (I am pretty terrible at these, so I can offer no advice from experience).
On a second note, your stencil-ish drawing could lead you on another path, as that looks pretty nice and simple. I can safely say your stuff could be loads better by simply spending more time on them, even if there is a steep learning curve. Oh, and you don't have to post EVERYTHING you make, I let 99% of my stuff rot on my hard drive and it doesn't bother me.
It's beautiful, babe.
I'm especially fond on your wonderful shading.

You should indeed stay away from digital drawing and focus on manual stuff. Doesn't mean you shouldn't post it, of course. It's all quite interesting. That last portrait is very stylistic, in fact.
A rather disgusting-looking git that should have been disposed of ages ago.

I felt inspired by that. Here is my very first digital painting(if you wanna call it a painting).
