I was witness to a Pocky-turned-Pringles eating contest because the douche bag running the panel forgot the Pocky, and therefore switched it to Pringles. But the effect was the same.

i tried a drinking contest with my freinds.
it wasnt who could drink the most bottles of water but it was who could drink 3 the fastest.
i kinda cheated by eating to expand my stomach and got tired on a treadmill before i did it.

To answer some of the questions asked.
The gift card is to the pizza place that held the event. So half of the reward is more pizza. Which shall be shared with friends and family at later dates.
Food is not a zero sum game. Just because I eat a ton of food doesn't take it away from the poor people in third world countries.
All proceeds from the day also went to benefit the USO so in a small way, I've already donated to charity. I am thinking about donating some of the cash to charity though. Maybe either to the USO or Red Cross.
I don't remember the number of slices, but they went by weight. I finished off 3lbs 3.4 oz during the 10 min competition.
There were no toppings, just cheese. My guess is that was to lower cost and give everyone an equal playing field. They were deep dish though.
As for all the people calling me fat. Yes, yes I am. Very. We can't all be like Takeru Kobiyashi. In fact, scientists can't figure out if fat, or muscle hinders stomach expansion more than the other. so he really doesn't have any particular advantage over anyone. He's just a beast.

To this day, my biggest eating accomplishment was 10 cheese coneys in 5 minutes. It was more of a speed contest than an endurance one, but I beat my friends and won serious bragging rights, a T-shirt, and free dinner.
