The forest will provide you with Shelter as long as you know it's will and how to use it to your advantage. Tree houses or tree stands make excellent safe spots. but don't stay in one spot for too long zombies may not understand logs or holes but they will overcome them eventually. Also avoid cornfields.

If all the criminals can come together for the sake of humanity, a prison would definitely be the best place. They're very well fortified, many have armories, plenty of food and room to stockpile, they're usually at a reasonable distance from civilization (but still reachable if you're absolutely desperate for supplies), and many also have libraries if you need any information. Other than the obvious (it's full of convicts), if you can set up an order that exiles uncooperative inmates/survivors, it could be the best area to try to survive a breakout. Sustainability of life: 9 Defense from undead: 8

If it was just in one area I would probably keep traveling. Recruit people along the way and look for a pilot, and a helicopter.

Also, kind of off topic but I never understood the point of buying weapons in zombie games. What good is money in a situation like a zombie outbreak?

again i would like to state that the chances of a zombie epidemic starting would be low. even if it started with one zombie wed probably finish off the first few quickly.

I think the best place to be in case of a Zombie doomsday condition would be at a gun store that has a door connected to a supermall from inside.This way i would not need to worry about the zombies or the food.

Get a monster truck and get a bunch of people in it and have supllies in the back of it, the zombies won't be able to get up and I have a mobile fortress allowing me to move around and get supplies. I win.

Oil rig is probably literally perfect. Full of food for an entire crew of people, and you can fish from the ocean as well. Many have desalinators in case water runs out. Most are self-powered. There'd be at least one aircraft on board as well in case you ever want to leave.

I want to say a casino, since they don't have windows, but you'd also want a place to escape from if worst came to worst. The best thing I can think of is a first floor apartment. There's only a front and back door to enter from, but if you have to get out, you can jump out a window and take only a seven or eight foot fall. Plus you have an oven, refrigerator, etc. in EACH of the units.

There's this one article on Cracked which I think is also their most read article. It says that the best place for a zombie attack is to go somewhere cold, below freezing. I believe that if you do that, all of the zombies will freeze up as most of their bodies are water. As they have no working circulatory system, there will be no way for them to regulate their body heat and they will essentially become cold-blooded. You never see reptiles in the snow, do you?

Fort Jefferson seems like a good spot.

Its has alot of open spaces for cattle, sheep, etc. or if fertile, crops. Surrounded by water can keep the zombies away.

Downside is the lack of a fresh water supply. You can just boil the way as best you can idk.

Am I the only one who thinks that staying in movement most of the time is the best choice? Having a solid vehicle and moving around a lot to find more food would be pretty good. Not sure if the zombie pros in here would agree...
