So I decided up 'upgrade' my OS from Vista x64 to 7 x64, BIG FUCKING MISTAKE.
First of all after I installed it my computer had a boot issue with it, lovely.
After I got that sorted out OH HAY NO NETWORK DRIVER, so I had to download that externally, amazing.
Afterwards OH SHIT SON NO AUDIO DRIVERS, no drive would work for me. No sound. Amazing.
Well okay, went to install my graphics card drivers, and all of a sudden "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" FUCKING AMAZING.
After all that bullshit I just said fuck it and formatted my fucking drive, as we speak I'm torrenting Vista 64 (I own a legal product key therefore not warez)
What the fuck, Microsoft?

I had that with my old laptop, no drivers at all for Windows 7.
In the future, its probably best to check in advance if 7 has drivers for your computer.

This is why, when I had my old laptop, I blew Windows away and installed Ubuntu. Sure, it's not for gamers, but it definitely gets the job done, without the hassle of manually looking for drivers.

Windows, worst mistake ever.
It's not X64 by the way, it's X86_64.

You can't blame Microsoft for you not having your drivers ready. I'm using W7 x64 and I've never had a problem.

Wait a second...
When I installed Windows XP Home I got the same "no drivers" thing, so you can't blame Microsoft for that, because you have to download it externally. If your manufacturer already installed Windows on your computer, the must've gone through the trouble to install drivers as well.
Luckily I had my phone to download the drivers.

Dude... you realize that pretty much all Vista drivers function on Windows 7, right? Basically, if you'd just saved your drivers folder from your old OS and pointed the devices that didn't pick up drivers automatically to that saved folder you would have been up and running in no time.
I hate (read: relish and enjoy thoroughly) to tell you this, but: you experienced classic symptoms of PEBKAC.

Nope, as stated I had graphic drivers but Win 7 was detecting a "problem" with my graphics card therefore it would not function, and windows 7 wasn't even showing my soundcard in device manager. I had drivers ready for windows 7 but it refused to accept them.

Let me guess, your vista is an OEM version that was distributed with your laptop, therefore all the software are pre-installed but your copy of windows7 was downloaded from internet.
Funny fact, Windows 7 has a much more complete database of pre-installer driver than Windows vista.
But yeah, enjoy Windows Vista. Until your reformat it again because of a Black screen of death on login or some infinite looping updates.

My computer running Windows 7 x64 has got to be the most bitchin thing I've ever had. I don't see why you suck so much.
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

What does that have to do with anything?
And it's because X64 sucks.

How did you work that out? X64 basically has access to more RAM, that's it.

I know everyones either a Mac or PC or whatever, but I don't often here Mac users going, "OH GAWD APPLE MADE SOMETHING NEW, NOW NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!"
I remember when SP2 came out for XP Pro, that alone made my computer worthless, opening My Documents put my computer into some kind of Loading loop, where it'd load, then backtrack and just not load anything past a certain point....groovy.
I've been saying yay Mac for almost 4 years.

Desktop bro, the only thing OEM in my machine is my hard drive (Which still has the acer recovery partition on it)
