This is stupidest proposition I've heard for a while.
Um, discuss.
Not as stupid as it sounds.
Yes, it costs a lot, but then surely the quality is good...?

Doesn´t have to be the case. Most expensive doesn´t have to mean that it is the best.
Without truth, there is no justice.

There's not exactly a shortage. And it's not as though an unproven new university is going to attract the richest and most priveliged from the likes of Oxford, Cambridge and even neighbouring London universities like LSE, Imperial and UCL which they ask the same grades as, courtesy of twice the fee.
Richard Dawkins is worried about average British school children getting a large dose of Religious Education in primary and secondary education, but with a smaller amount of importance put upon the scientific side of learning and so wants to introduce a more science and evolution heavy curriculum, so what does he do?
He teaches at a university made for the 'elite' that costs 72,000 quid to graduate from.
Genius

It's not the expense that could make it the top university in the country, it's the fact that it can attract some of the best academics and offer more direct teaching.
Of course, at £18,000 a year, it's not exactly gonna enhance social mobility. It'll just create another Eton class who'll become the next Conservative front bench.

Which is a joke btw - it's like not teaching history, and will only increase the sentiment of religious divide.
Meh if it has the best facilities and lecturers then sure why not?
it's kinda expensive. i'd probably go there if they offer research programs though, if i can afford it.
one to one tutorial sounds like a good idea, but still i won't study there just to take the courses. professors being good at research does not mean they have to be equally good at teaching. in fact, i've seen a lot of people that are very knowledgable about their field failed to explain things clearly and concisely when it came to teaching.
I am just a random user from a set of measure zero and thus am negligible. Or to put it another way, a worthless piece of shit.
Good school with leading academics - they'll only take on gifted young people as well - I'm all for it.
Well, for people that have spent their whole lives at expensive private schools, and can afford it, its not a that big deal...
