Writing Section

Maybe this is the wrong place for this, but I didn't see a forum section for suggestions. I think if NG wants to really be complete--to really be "Everything by Everyone," then they need to have a place on the main site where users can submit their written work, whether it be short stories, poetry, or whatever. I mean shit, we have movies, games, music and art. Why not writing? It just makes sense. Just having a forum sub-section isn't the same. It'd be nice to actually feel like a part of the community, since I DO have something to conribute. If there was a story section, all your work would be on your userpage for one. Also, I'm pretty sure sexually explicit material would violate the forum rules (not to mention the character limit, which would be annoying), which, if it was like the rest of NG submissions, it would have the same standards (NG ratings, basically). Or at least something like it. It just seems like the next natural step.

You're in the Writing forum. Have you had a look at what people have been posting here?
I would suggest you do that before complaining about the lack of a Literature Portal (which is being heavily hinted towards) and a 'Writing section.'

We've been talking about this for a long time - it will come, right around the time we get the chat, maybe a day or two later, but things have been said.

For now though, we have to submit the pieces of writing to either other sites, your blog posts or even on the writing forum. If you socialise with people on here, you can give them critique and vice versa. It's not difficult, just try it and see what you think.
