Sir Belfin Series - Need Animator! 2011-05-31 05:37:14 Reply

Recently, I've taken up voice acting and sound editing as a hobby.

Right now, my main work is the Sir Belfin series, based on a bunch of crazy things one of my friends wrote. You can find those here

http://ionline.vectec.net/random.htm

the basic idea behind them is as follows:

Sir Belfin is a Xaserian psycho-political serial thriller starring our beloved Senators and his staff of governments as they battle the evil forces of Communism, Drugs, and more!

I thought they were hilarious and awesome enough to make a full radio-like play of them! So I did!

I also made another one based on a mini Sir Belfin epic.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3238714/Sir%...n ouncement.mp3

While these have gotten a fair amount of praise, I think they would benefit even more if they had a fully animated flash.

So, therefore, I'm looking out to you, Newgrounds! Would one of you be willing to turn these audio epics into a flash epic?

I'd prefer an animation style that can both be silly and serious, depending on the mood.

Theoretically, half of the work is already done, considering the audio is already all there. :3

If you are interested, message in this topic or send me a PM. Preferably, show me an example of your work, too.

I'm hoping somebody will be willing to make this a reality! I think this could be a huge hit.

I read the script and I enjoyed it.
But the sound files did not open and when I pasted them into the URL they did not work either. Could you send me them in a different way?
If i find they are good sound quality and well executed, i will give it a go to try and make an episode or two.
good job.

Sorry, the links seem to have gotten distorted somehow.

I like it. Sound is great, script is nice too.

I'd like to work on this. Even willing to work alongside terabiter if he wants.

Do you have character designs yet?

It would be great to work with you. Upon reading this i drew down my fist impressions. Just to get the ball rolling...

My favorite bits of the script are when he is making his speach about drugs. I found that hilarious (although ive got my work cut out for me lip synching)
Also the bit when he was imprisonned was funny.
One problem I had was with the crowd speech. When the crowd read out a line they would say "crowd says:....." Maybe it would be better to have a muffled crowd sound effects and random outcries from single people in the crowd because usually crowds dont synchronise what they say.

Also I think there's a risk of losing views from the upper case guy. I guess it's an aquired taste.

great work. Tell me what you think should change -if anything- about the two main characters.

I did my own first impressions last night. I see some similarities to yours.

And when Bouncy mentioned silly/serious I thought of Ren & Stimpy or even Spongebob, where they use detailed stills for serious or gross moments. I did one of those just a moment ago.

Just to make random character designs. Notice he also has nubs for feet, one arm is shorter than the other, he is wearing makeup and a pink belt.

And UpperCase Guy's suit is orange, in his piss-stained briefs, and his hair is shaped like male reproductive organs.

Sorry for the slightly late post, I've been busy.

Your designs look pretty good to me, terabiter! The only thing I could ask is actual eye color but otherwise they're good.

I would like to note that I personally would really like to avoid gross-out humor. I personally don't feel the Sir Belfin series needs to resort to that. Its own crazy antics are more than enough.

As far as the Crowd issue, I sort of picture two hypothetical situations;
one; it's a crowd of all William Shatners who all think the same thing.
two: it is a crowd of random people, but there is a giant Shatner standing among them who speaks on their behalf.

and as far as uppercase guy being an acquired taste...we'll see. I think he'll be fine.

That's cool, guess this one is for you, terabiter. Now I get to focus on AVAT. Have fun, guys.

Just posting to note that I'm also currently working on the sequel.

This isn't complete yet and may be subject to revision, but it's getting there. :D

If you're still interested in continuing, I won't mind seeing what you got, but I've been contacted by another person who was interested in working on it and I might go with them.5w

@_@ decisions, decisions.

I do appreciate the interest and help none-the-less. :D

Seems to be at least on par.

Glad you have plenty of projects. Hope they all go well! :3

Just to be sure I'd at least like to see up to chapter 1 animated, if it isn't a problem. That's not too much and at least from that I can tell for certain what'll be the best route for Sir Belfin. :)

nah forget it. im not animating this as a race to compete with someone else. The other guy can have the job.
