We've not created a single country. Preserving countries doesn't matter much either, considering that the worst consequences that could've befallen the aforementioned countries would almost always be communism....While communism fails in practice, those countries would not be much worse off with a communist dictator as opposed to an American-supported dictator. Even then, our involvement in world affairs has caused us to possess many enemies. Why do you think Al Qaeda exists? It's because of interventionalist foreign policy on our part. I never said I believed in their cause. Well, actually Irish independence seems fine, although I don't live there and don't understand the culture.

The IRA and British killed civilians (more so by the British), but the way the IRA did business lost public support for the insurgency.
