It's all about preference. Personally, I don't mind some of the old rap that's out there, but I still much prefer rock.

Some people don't really listen to music too much, so they just tune into the radio whenever they feel like the sounds of the highway are starting to get to them. Some people just need something fast to work out to, so they shove Slayer into the local gym's radio to inspire them to their fullest potential. Some people just want to dance.

It's important to keep an open mind.

I swear, I could make an annoying looped electronica song, get some random black guy to say a poem with the word "f***" and "bitches" every other second, say it was by some famous rapper, and people would love it. That is how bad modern rap is.
Not to mention that most "rock" songs today are losing their roots. Whatever happened to stuff like Def Leppard, Van Halen, and Lenny Kravitz? I sure don't know, but I'm glad some of the NG still does some of that stuff.

I think he was talking about in the last year and even though rappers might be more popular then rock artists, rock and hardcore music are starting to fucking dominate.

another reason why is well normal rock, there hasnt been any concert near me as far as i know (recently). but theres always some type of screamo band which i thin isnt any big deal... so yea i dont really hear people say anything about a rock concert... ever
